February 28, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Falleni investigated a report of a Burglary on Flocktown Road.  The victim reported that $12,000 in jewelry was stolen.  The investigation is continuing.
  • Patrol Officer Brobst investigated a report of a Route 46 business receiving a check issued on a closed account.  The restaurant indicated they would sign a complaint against the Peachtree Village resident.

 

February 27, 2005

  • Corporal Pluciniak arrested a 38 year old male resident of Port Murray, NJ for DWI on East Mill Road, after stopping him for a motor vehicle violation.
  • Patrol Officer Wurtemberg investigated a report of a Burglary on Sand Hill Lane.  The victim reported the burglar did not appear to have gained entry to the residence.  The investigation is continuing.
  • Patrol Officer Gilligan investigated a report of a family disturbance.

 

February 26, 2005

  • Sergeant Compton investigated a report of an assault against a resident of Peachtree Village by a neighbor.  The victim indicated they would sign a complaint against the offender.  The incident was not observed by Sergeant Compton.
  • Patrol Officer Falleni investigated a report of domestic violence by a resident of Long Valley.  The resident was granted a TRO.  Sergeant Compton and  Officer Falleni served the TRO and seized a number of weapons.
  • Patrol Officer Bigham arrested a 24 year old male resident of Succasunna, NJ on a contempt of court warrant and released the defendant on bail.

 

February 25, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Griffin investigated a report of domestic violence after a resident called 911.  Neither involved party desired a TRO, and no arrest was required.
  • Patrol Officer Gilligan investigated a report of identity theft.  The victim, a Stephensburg Road resident reported the incident after a collection agency contacted her.
  • Patrol Officer Bigham investigated a report of two computers stolen form a Squire Hill Road residence.  Further investigation revealed the computers were not stolen, and the matter was civil in nature.
  • Patrol Officer Gilligan investigated a report of domestic violence.  The victim was intoxicated and indicated she might request a TRO when she was sober.

 

February 24, 2005

  • ACO Howard Ghetti investigated a report of a dog bite after a family dog bit one of the children in the house. 

 

February 23, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Allen investigated a report of a suspicious individual attempting to gain entry into vehicles parked at Peachtree Village.  Officer Allen located the individual a 48 year old male resident of Peachtree Village and arrested him for criminal trespass.  The defendant was unable to post bail and was incarcerated in the Morris County Jail.
  • Sergeant Bratus arrested a 32 year old male resident of Hackettstown, NJ on a contempt of court warrant.  The defendant was unable to post bail and was turned over to the Mansfield Police Department.
  • Patrol Officer Marut investigated a report of domestic violence.

 

February 22, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Gilligan investigated a report of an altercation on South Four Bridges Road that escalated to criminal mischief when an unidentified individual threw rocks at a 2003 Toyota, breaking the windshield.  The Wherli Road victim stated they would attempt to identify the offender.
  • Patrol Officer Bigham investigated a report of a Pleasant Grove Road resident receiving inappropriate letters from an ex-girlfriend.
  • Patrol Officer Bigham investigated a report of a family disturbance at a Peachtree Village residence.
  • Patrol Officer Falleni investigated a report of annoying phone calls from a Hemlock Drive resident.
  • Patrol Officer Gilligan investigated a report of a lost license plate NJ registration PCC47W.

 

February 21, 2005

  • Corporal Pluciniak investigated a report of domestic violence.  The victim obtained a TRO, and the TRO was forwarded to the Sparta Police Department for service.
  • Corporal McCarthy investigated a report of damage to a pickup truck after a Chester resident drove past an East Mill Road residence where the driveway was being cleared by a snow blower.

 

February 20, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Rady investigated a report of a mailbox from a Camp Washington Road residence.
  • Corporal Barnes arrested a 37 year old male resident of Peapack, NJ on East Mill Road for DWI.
  • Patrol Officer Burns arrested a 38 year old male resident of Jamesburg, NJ for DWI.

February 19, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Rady investigated a report of a domestic violence.  The victim declined a TRO.

 

February 18, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Marut investigated a report of juveniles flashing lights at other vehicles on Barker’s Mill Road.
  • Patrol Officer Marut investigated a report of criminal mischief after a Peachtree Village resident reported two tires on their car were deliberately flattened.  The resident suspects a neighbor.

 

February 17, 2005

  • Lieutenant Bailey investigated a report of a theft from a truck.  The victim, a Hackettstown, NJ resident stated a CD Player was removed from his truck while it was parked.
  • Patrol Officer Madden investigated a report of annoying phone calls from a Quail Run resident.  The calls involve a civil matter.
  • Patrol Officer Madden arrested a 27 year old male resident of Somerset, NJ on a contempt of court warrant from the Middletown Township Court.  The man posted the $155 bail and was released.
  • Patrol Officer Bigham arrested a 21 year old male resident of Hackettstown, NJ on a contempt of court warrant from the Rockaway Township Municipal Court, and a 19 year old female resident of Hackettstown, NJ after stopping the couple in their car.  The man was unable to post the $350 bail and was turned over to Ptl. Vanorden of the Rockaway Township Police Department.  The woman was unable to post the $270 bail and was turned over to Ptl. Distasio of the Mount Arlington Police Department
  • Corporal McCarthy arrested a 54 year old female resident of Long Valley for DWI on Naughright Road. 

February 16, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Adam Feichter investigated a report of a missing juvenile.  It was determined the juvenile was not in danger.
  • Patrol Officer Madden arrested a 50 year old male resident of Piscataway, NJ for hindering apprehension.
  • Patrol Officer Bigham investigated a report of car running a stop sign on Ann Road and nearly striking the complainant.  The complainant noted the license plate of the car.  Officer Bigham advised how to sign a motor vehicle complaint with the court.

February 15, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Brobst investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle on East Maple Avenue.

February 14, 2005

  • Sergeant Bratus investigated a report of a car striking a utility pole on Flocktown Road.  The road was closed until the utility pole was removed.  The driver of the car, a Long Valley resident, was not injured
  • Patrol Officer Marut investigated a report of identity theft.  The Long Valley resident received a letter from Capital One Bank requesting information for her new account.

February 13, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Falleni investigated a report of a criminal mischief after a Naughright Road resident reported a business sign was smashed between 9 AM and 1 PM. 
  • Patrol Officer Hade arrested a 18 year old female resident of Long Valley on a contempt of court warrant.  The woman was released on $120 bail.
  • Patrol Officer Falleni investigated a report of a theft after a Naughright Road resident reported their $400 address sign was stolen.  The sign was oval shaped green with gold edge trim and had the brass numbers 496.

  • Sergeant Compton investigated a report of a gas leak on Kensington Court.  Schooley’s Mountain Fire Protection Association responded.
  • Patrol Officer Adam Feichter arrested a 44 year old male resident of Newark on a contempt of court warrant.  The man was released on $100 bail.

February 12, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Hade arrested an 18 year old male resident of Long Valley for DWI on West Mill Road.  Patrol Officer Hade additionally brought the 17 year old male passenger to Police Headquarters and released the juvenile his father.
  •  Sergeant Adams assisted the Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS) with an investigation at a Schooley’s Mountain Road residence.
  • Corporal Pluciniak investigated a report of careless driving after a Long Valley resident was run off the road by another vehicle.  The victim did not get the license plate of the other vehicle.
  • Corporal Pluciniak investigated a report of theft after a Mount Lebanon Road resident reported a package was mis-delivered by FedEx.  Corporal Pluciniak spoke with the resident where the package was delivered by mistake, and the man stated he did not know where the package was.
  • Patrol Officer Bigham investigated a report of shoplifting reported by a Hastings Square business owner.  Several pair of sunglasses were taken, worth $600.  The investigation is continuing.
  • Patrol Officer Madden arrested a 38 year old male resident of Hackettstown, NJ on a contempt of court warrant.  The subject posted $562 bail and was turned over to the Cedar Grove Police Department as the subject was wanted on multiple warrants..

February 11, 2005

  • Corporal Pluciniak investigated a report of lost wallet by a Waldon Road resident.
  • Patrol Officer Hade arrested a 23 year old male resident of Irvington, NJ on a contempt of court warrant.  The subject posted $1,000 bail and was released.

February 10, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Marut investigated a report of identity theft by a West Mill Road resident where $3,500 was taken from his account.
  • Patrol Officer Griffin investigated a report of a lost license plate, NJ KL-610F.
  • Patrol Officer Burns investigated a report of a suspicious package arriving at a Newburgh Road business.  The investigation is continuing.

February 9, 2004

  • Patrol Officer Allen arrested a 21 year old male resident of Hackettstown on a warrant.  The man was unable to post bail and was turned over to the Roxbury Police Department.
  • Corporal Barnes and Lieutenant Niemynski investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle.  It was determined the suspicious vehicle belonged to an individual using Cobblestone Park for their lunch break .

    Due to the location, and the frequency of the individual being observed, a rumor that a stalker was targeting bus stops in the community began.  The matter and all aspects of the reports were fully investigated, and the incident was determined to be unfounded.  Reports of attempted child abductions in Chester and Madison were additionally found to be unfounded, at this time. 

February 8, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Adam Feichter investigated a report of an assault.
  • Patrol Officer Gilligan investigated a report of a violation of a civil order.  Patrol Officer Gilligan offered the complainant an opportunity to obtain a TRO, but the woman declined.
  • Patrol Officer Madden investigated a report of a bad check being issued to a Port Murray business owner for work done at a Sherwood Village residence.  Patrol Officer Madden told the business owner how to sign a complaint with the Municipal Court.
  • Patrol Officer Madden investigated a report of a theft of services from a local gas station.

 

February 7, 2005

  • Corporal McCarthy investigated a report of domestic violence.  The victim declined the TRO, and was explained their rights.
  • Patrol Officer Madden arrested a 36 year old male resident of Phillipsburg, NJ after stopping the man for a traffic violation.  The defendant was wanted for parole violation in Pennsylvania. Patrol Officer Madden transported the man to the Morris County Jail pending extradition to Pennsylvania.

  • Patrol Officer Marut investigated a report of a child custody dispute and completed a report.

 

February 5, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Griffin investigated a report of threats being made to a Route 46 business employee. 
  • Patrol Officer Brobst investigated a report of a lost license plate, NJ Registration HM6977.  The plate was later recovered and returned to the owner.
  • Patrol Officer Marut investigated a report of a burglary to a West Mill Road residence and arrested a 37 year old male resident of Long Valley.
  • Patrol Officer Burns investigated a report by a Flintlock Drive resident of a lost passport.

 

February 4, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Griffin investigated a report of domestic violence.  The victim refused a TRO, and the circumstances did not warrant the arrest of either involved party.
  • Patrol Officer Griffin investigated a report of domestic violence.  The victim declined a TRO

 

February 3, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Gilligan investigated a report of threats at a Long Valley business.
  • Patrol Officer Adam Feichter arrested a 34 year old male resident of Nutley, NJ on a warrant.  The defendant was released on $250 bail.

 

February 2, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Gilligan investigated a report of a lost cell phone, a Verizon LG VX6000, lost on Long Hill Road
  • Patrol Officer Gilligan investigated a second report of a lost cell phone, a Verizon LG VX6000, lost while riding an ATV.
  • Patrol Officer Brian Bigham investigated a report of theft from West Morris High School. A guitar worth $230 was stolen.
  • Patrol Officer Adam Feichter investigated a report of a credit card fraud.  The victim had their credit card account used without their knowledge for an Internet purchase.

 

February 1, 2005

  • Corporal Pluciniak investigated a report of a criminal mischief on South Four Bridges Road.  Someone dumped nails where a vehicle is parked.
  • Patrol Officer Griffin investigated a report of identity theft by a Stone Briar Drive resident.  The incident involved an attempted phishing. (Internet fraud - see our article)
