March 31, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Gilligan investigated a report of a lost wallet by a Paula Drive resident.
  • Patrol Officer Wurtemberg arrested a 43 year old male resident of Long Valley on a TRO violation warrant.  The individual was located by Officer Wurtemberg on patrol and the man was placed in the Morris County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.

March 30, 2005

  • Sergeant Bratus investigated a report of a missing juvenile from Rice Lane.  The 15 year old male was entered in the NCIC System and bulletins were sent to the surrounding counties and the Morris County Sheriff’s Department and Prosecutor’s Office.  The juvenile was eventually located by Patrol Officer Brobst at the Washington Township Library.
  • Sergeant First Class Brader investigated a report of a TRO after a resident called Headquarters.  A warrant was issued for the offender.
  • Patrol Officer Gilligan arrested a 24 year old female resident of New Brunswick, NJ on a contempt of court warrant.  The driver was released on $55 bail.
  • Patrol Officer Hade arrested a 26 year old male resident of Morristown, NJ and a 33 year old male resident of Bernardsville on contempt of court warrants.  The driver was released on $250 bail and received a summons for operating a vehicle while his license was suspended.  The passenger was released on $190 bail.

March 29, 2005

  • Sergeant Bratus investigated a report of domestic violence.  Neither party wanted to obtain a TRO.  One of the parties was transported to St Clair’s Hospital for treatment.
  • Patrol Officer Griffin investigated a report of criminal trespass by a North Four Bridges resident.  Sergeant Bratus later located two individuals matching the description of the trespassers, but could not prove they were involved.
  • Patrol Officer Burns investigated a report regarding the location of a stolen car.  The vehicle was located on Hemlock Drive and a 34 year old female resident of Boston. MA was arrested for possession of stolen property.
  • Corporal Carvino investigated a report of a burglary of a South Four Bridges residence.  The victim reported electronics and liquor, total value of about $350, were taken from the residence.
  • Patrol Officer Griffin investigated a report of criminal mischief after an employee of a Long Valley Professional Center business reported their 1995 Plymouth vandalized.

March 28, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Allen took into custody a 42 year old male resident of Edison and transported him to the Morris County Jail to serve a jail sentence for driving while suspended.
  • Sergeant Bratus investigated a report of a lost cell phone, a Samsung LG600 by a Parker Road resident.
  • Patrol Officer Allen investigated a report by a Gentry Drive resident of identity theft.  The investigation an individual opened a number of accounts and defrauded a financial institution.  The investigation is continuing.
  • Patrol Officer Allen investigated a report by the Long Valley Middle School of the harassment of a student by e-mail.  The detective bureau is continuing the investigation.

March 27, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Madden investigated a report of a family dispute by an East Springtown Road resident.
  • Patrol Officer Adam Feichter investigated a report of domestic violence.  The victim obtained a TRO and the offender was arrested and incarcerated in the Morris County Jail in lieu of bail.
  • Patrol Officer Adam Feichter investigated a report of sewerage running in a driveway.  The Black River Road resident was advised to contact the Board of Health.

March 26, 2005

  • Corporal McCarthy arrested a 35 year old female resident of Glen Gardner, NJ for DWI on West Mill Road.
  • Patrol Officer Hade investigated a report by a Peachtree village resident of a custody dispute.
  • Patrol Officer Hade stopped a vehicle on East Avenue and determined the driver, in addition to being unlicensed, was entered into the NCIC System as being wanted by the Hillsborough County Sheriffs Department (FL) and missing by the Tampa Police Department (FL).  Neither agency provided documentation that he should be placed in custody and the individual was released.  The individual was summonsed.
  • Patrol Officer Gilligan investigated a report of theft from three cars parked in a Paula Drive residence.  The vehicles were left unlocked in the driveway. A Sony compact disk player was taken.
  • Patrol Officer Madden investigated a report of two males who entered a vehicle on Paula Drive and stole change.  Patrol Officer Bigham, Corporal McCarthy and the Morris County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the investigation. March 25, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Hade investigated a report of a lost license plate, NJ registration PLJ93T by a Dorset Road resident.  The owner was advised to obtain new plates and return to Headquarters.

March 24, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Burns investigated a report of an electrical fire at a Cobblestone Lane residence.  The Washington Township Fire Department responded and identified the problem as a furnace motor.
  • Detective Corporal Szymanski took into custody a 43 year old male resident of Lavallette and transported him to the Morris County Jail to serve a jail sentence for driving while revoked.
  • Patrol Officer Brobst investigated a report by a Lawrence Trail resident of a theft from a vehicle parked in the driveway.  The vehicle was unlocked, and about $275 worth of property was stolen.
  • Patrol Officer Brobst investigated a report of suspicious activity on Abedim Way.  Patrol Officer Brobst documented footprints in the snow around a number of residences in the area.

March 23, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Burns reported suspicious activity at Rock Spring Park Senior Center.
  • Patrol Officer Griffin investigated a report of hit and run accident on East Valley Brook Road.  A mailbox was destroyed and a small dark pickup truck with damage to the drivers side left the scene.

March 22, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Bigham investigated a report of vehicles racing on Valley View Road.  During the course of the investigation Patrol Officer Bigham identified an individual who is wanted by New Mexico authorities.  The20 year old male eluded arrest.  The individual was charged with Obstruction and a $25,000 warrant was issued for his arrest.

  • Patrol Officer Hade investigated a report of domestic violence.  The victim did not want a TRO.

March 21, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Adam Feichter investigated a report of a theft from a car parked on Winchester Drive.  The victim reported cash, a pocketknife and cigarettes were stolen from the vehicle,
  • Patrol Officer Hade investigated a report of a vehicle stuck in a field on East Mill Road.  The operator, a Hackettstown, NJ resident was issued summonses and the property owner was notified.

March 20, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Adam Feichter investigated a report of a fireworks being discharged in the vicinity of Cindy Lane.

March 19, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Griffin arrested a 37 year old male resident of Great Meadows, NJ for DWI on Schooley’s Mountain Road. 
  • Patrol Officer Griffin investigated a report of a dog biting a Nestling Wood resident.  The injury required medical attention.

March 18, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Brobst investigated a report of a theft from a car parked on West Valley Brook Road.  Cash and a small flashlight were taken from the vehicle.
  • Sergeant First Class Brader investigated a report of domestic violence.  No arrest was required and the victim indicated they would obtain a TRO in Morristown.
  • Patrol Officer Brobst investigated a report of an assault at West Morris Central High School by a Califon, NJ resident.

March 17, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Allen investigated a report of criminal mischief at West Morris Central High School.  Due to the nature of the criminal mischief, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, the Morris County Sheriff's Department and the NJ State Department of Criminal Justice was notified.  The investigation is continuing.
  • Patrol Officer Adam Feichter investigated a report of a lost passport.
  • Sergeant Trevena investigated a report of harassing phone calls being made to an Arbor Way resident. 
  • Patrol Officer Madden investigated a report of credit card fraud by a Flintlock Drive resident.  Someone charged over $5,000 worth of goods on the resident’s card.
  • Patrol Officer Madden investigated a report of unauthorized use of water from a fire hydrant by a Hopelawn, NJ company doing construction work in the vicinity.  The Municipal Utilities Authority came to the scene and may sign complaints.

March 16, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Gilligan investigated a report of a lost Motorola T720 cell phone, lost at West Morris Central High School.
  • Detective Corporal Szymanski received a weapon for destruction.  The owner no longer wanted the weapon and turned it in for disposal.

March 15, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Brobst investigated a report of a violation of a FRO.  It was determined a violation occurred and a warrant was issued for the offender.
  • Corporal Carvino investigated a report of harassment.  The complainant was advised to contact the venue of the offender.

March 14, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Burns investigated a report of a family dispute involving an assault.  The offender was placed under arrest, and later released.

 

March 13, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Bigham investigated a report of a domestic violence assault.  Officer Bigham arrested the offender, a 46 year old male resident of Long Valley for simple assault.  The victim obtained a TRO against the defendant.
  • Patrol Officer Madden investigated a report of a stolen bicycle, a 2004 Haro Back trail, yellow with a missing chain guard.  The bike was stolen from Peachtree Village.
  • Patrol Officer Madden investigated a report of a landlord tenant dispute at a Flocktown Road residence.  The matter was determined to be completely civil in nature.

 

March 12, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Adam Feichter investigated a report of an assault on two Markham Drive residents.  The victims were assaulted at a party somewhere in Long Valley.  The investigation is continuing.
  • Patrol Officer Falleni investigated a report of a burglary on Beacon Hill Road.  The victim reported that over $1,000 in items were stolen.
  • Patrol Officer Bigham arrested a 19 year old male resident of Perth Amboy on a contempt of court warrant.  The individual was unable to post bail and was turned over to the Perth Amboy Police Department.

 

March 11, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Adam Feichter investigated a report of a domestic dispute.  The victim did not want a TRO.
  • Patrol Officer Madden investigated a report by a Jersey City resident what stated his ex-wife has been making harassing phone calls.  The individual wanted to put the matter on record and did not want a TRO.
  • Lieutenant Niemynski investigated a report of harassment and determined the offense occurred out of town.

 

 

March 10, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Griffin investigated a report of theft from and criminal mischief to a vehicle parked at the West Morris Central High School.  Approximately $300 worth of CD’s were removed from the vehicle.
  • Patrol Officer Burns investigated a report of a domestic dispute.  Neither party wanted to obtain a TRO

 

March 9, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Griffin investigated a report of theft.
  • Corporal Carvino investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle on Stephensburg Road.

 

March 8, 2005

  • Sergeant First Class Brader investigated a report of criminal mischief made by a Nancy Terrace resident.  Investigation indicated a neighbors mailbox was used to damage the mailbox.
  • Patrol Officer Madden arrested a 44 year old male resident of Landing, NJ on a contempt of court warrant issued by the North Hunterdon Municipal Court.  The defendant was released on $260 bail.
  • Corporal McCarthy investigated a report of a possible violation of a TRO by a Long Valley resident.  It was determined a violation of the TRO did not occur.
  • Patrol Officer Madden investigated a report of mailbox vandalism by a Chestnut Street resident. 
  • Patrol Officer Bigham arrested a 23 year old male resident of Dover, NJ on a no bail warrant.  The individual was turned over to the Dover Police Department.

 

March 7, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Adam Feichter investigated a report of vandalism and annoying phone calls made by a Sierra Drive resident.
  • Patrol Officer Adam Feichter investigated a report of identity theft made by a Sierra Drive resident.  The resident was a victim of phishing, (see article in news) where an individual represented to be from Smith Barney.
  • Patrol Officer Gilligan investigated a report of an assault on a juvenile.  The investigation is continuing.

 

March 6, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Brobst investigated a report of annoying phone calls reported by an East Springtown Road resident.
  • Patrol Officer Griffin investigated a report of a burglary from a Zellers Road residence.  Investigation revealed power equipment and tools, valued at $20,000 were stolen from the premises.
  • Patrol Officer Marut investigated a report of shots being fired in the area of East Mill Road.

 

March 5, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Burns investigated a report of a dumpster fire on Newburgh Road.  Fire Units from the Washington Township Fire Department extinguished the dumpster contents.
  • Patrol Officer Madden investigated a report by an East Springtown resident of annoying phone calls made by a person with a Pilipino accent.
  • Sergeant Bratus responded to a Forest View Drive residence to assist Hackettstown Police in serving an arrest warrant for terroristic threats.  The defendant, a 33 year old male resident of Long Valley produced a handgun after officers advertised their presence and purpose at the location.
    The Morris County SERT team and Morris County Prosecutor’s Office responded and negotiated a surrender several hours later.  The defendant was charged with a number of weapons and assault weapons charges, and was remanded to the Morris County Jail in lieu of 500,000 bail, set by Washington Township Municipal Judge Leanza.

March 4, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Hade investigated a report of a vandalized mailbox at a Squire Hill Road residence.
  • Patrol Officer Rady arrested a 34 year old male resident of Long Valley for criminal mischief and Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer after the subject damaged a patrol car and then assaulted and wounded Officer Rady.  The individual was incarcerated in the Morris County Jail in lieu of bail.  (See the News Article on the incident.)
  • Patrol Officer Marut investigated a report of harassment by a Drakestown Road resident.  The matter was civil in nature.
  • Detective Sergeant Pellegrino arrested a 53 year old female resident of Phillipsburg, NJ on multiple counts of theft from a business on Schooley’s Mountain Road. 
  • Patrol Officer Marut investigated a report of disorderly conduct at an East Mill Road business.  An intoxicated patron harassed an employee who did not want to pursue a complaint. 
  • Patrol Officer Burns investigated a report of simple assault at a Schooley’s Mountain Road residence.  After investigation a 23 year old female resident of Long Valley was arrested for assault and released on $1,000 bail ROR.  The incident fell under the domestic violence act.

 

March 3, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Bigham arrested a 22 year old male resident of Middlebury, NJ for possession of drug paraphernalia on Route 46 Westbound.
  • Patrol Officer Falleni arrested a 28 year old male resident of Hackettstown for DWI on Route 46
  • Patrol Officer Falleni investigated a report of a possible domestic violence incident.  The matter was unfounded.
  • Patrol Officer Adam Feichter investigated a report by a Squire Hill Road resident that their mailbox was vandalized.  The damage to the mailbox is estimated to be about $100.

 

March 2, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Bigham arrested a 15 year old male resident of Chester Township for stealing a chemistry kit from the West Morris Central High School, after being contacted by the school.
  • Detective Sergeant Pellegrino investigated a report of a theft from Heath Village.
  • Patrol Officer Bigham investigated a report of an individual going door to door on Tall Timber Drive.  The individual was working in the area

  

March 1, 2005

  • Patrol Officer Marut investigated a report of a vehicle being operated in a careless manner.
  • Patrol Officer Brobst investigated a report of a possible violation of a FRO.  The Municipal Judge determined a violation did not occur.
