Washington Township Police DepartmentCommunications
A Communication Officer is the first person an individual comes into contact with when they need assistance. There are twenty-one full and part time communication officers at the communication center ready to assist the residents of Washington Township, Chester Township, Chester Boro and Mendham Township, twenty-four hours a day, three hundred sixty-five days a year. The Communication Center is an operation that never stops. A Communication Officer answers all 911 calls, administrative police phone calls and non emergency calls. People in need of a police officer, or the services police departments provide, may have the communication center dispatch police from the Washington Township Police, the Chester Boro Police, the Chester Township Police, and the Califon Boro Police Departments. Those who need the assistance of a fire department can expect the communication center to dispatch the local police department and a fire company from the local fire department, be it the Long Valley Fire Department, the Schooley's Mountain Fire Protection Association, the Fairmount Fire Department, (Washington Township) the Chester Volunteer Fire Company, (Chester Boro and Township). Individuals needing medical assistance may receive an ambulance and first aid responders dispatched by the communication center from the Long Valley First Aid Squad and Chester First Aid Squad. |
