Washington Township Police Department
- Senior Aid Program
- This program is designed to reach the needs of the townships senior citizens. Cpl. William McCarthy and Officer Thomas Falleni run the program. These officers meet with formalized senior citizen groups. They also make house call visits to senior who live alone or who have special needs. We have also held luncheons for the seniors and had guest speakers from the Morris County Prosecutors Office come in and speak about crimes perpetrated on seniors.
- Long Valley New Comers Club
- This organization holds a meeting for new residents. Police officers attend the meetings and discuss the services that the police department provides as well as unique township ordinances.
- Neighborhood Community Policing Officers
- Certain neighborhoods that have had unique quality of life situations occurring are assigned an officer to be a direct liaison for the neighborhood. The residents of these neighborhoods usually have an established group and have meetings.
The assigned officers attempt to make the meetings and discuss problems that the police department can work on.
- Child and Senior Identification
- The child ID program is conducted in the schools and each year the kindergarten and fifth grade students are provided an opportunity to have a Child Emergency ID made. There is also a date offered in the summer for parents to bring their kids in and have an ID made. The senior citizen ID’s are provide to senior who need a form of identification. These ID’s are done by appointment. Officer Kirk Griffin is in charge of the ID program. Please call 908.876.3232 to make an appointment.
