Washington Townships 2004
National Night Out was a resounding success. Over 2,000 participated
in the activities at Rock Spring Park. The NJ State Police and the
"Northstar" helicopter, operated in conjunction with The University of
Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) made a spectacular appearance
and exit. The Community Policing unit, assisted by Bob Prudente and
his staff from Long Valley Pizza and Teens against Crime (TAC) served
over 1,000 hot dogs, 750 hamburgers. They also served fresh corn and
watermelons, donated by Ort's Farm, soda donated by the Marino
Family.
The Community Policing Unit has
special thanks to Harrington/Hoffman Supply, the Long Valley Area Junior
Woman's Club, Wayne Laraway of Game Faces, Sprinkles the Clown (pictured
below), The Long
Valley Girl Scouts, the Hackettstown Dairy Queen, the 2nd Battalion 102nd
Armor from Port Murray, Quest Karate, MADD, the Washington Township
Recreation, Parks, and Department of Public Works, the Long Valley First Aid
Squad, the Fairmont Fire Company, the Schooley's Mountain Fire Protection
Association, and the Long Valley Fire Company, the Kiwanis Club, Joey
McCarthy of Joey McCarthy Racing, and all the other residents and
organizations who made National Night Out a great success.
