The Washington Township 5th Grade DARE Program is well underway and will run through the beginning of May.
Students are preparing their essays on “What DARE means to Me”. All students compose an essay and the winners
are selected by the DARE Officers and school staff. The school has divided the fifth grade is divided into three
“houses” and three students with the best essays will be selected from each “house” as semi-finalists. The students
will read their essay in front of the school. The student composing the essay deemed the best will be awarded a
DARE sweat suit, a DARE baseball cap, and a stuffed DARE lion. T
he students with the second and third best essays
will receive a stuffed DARE lion.
On May 28th the participatory certificates are awarded to the 5th grade students, with a celebratory Barbeque to follow.

he event is hosted by the Washington Township DARE Unit and PBA. The Barbeque will include plenty of food, T shirts,
Karaoke, games, field activities, a band and numerous activities.
