Chief
Bailey started his law enforcement career in Washington Township
in 1988 as a Patrol Officer. In 1993, he was reassigned
to the DARE/community Policing Unit. In 1996 Chief
Bailey was assigned to the Detective Bureau for the second
time, where he worked on numerous cases dealing with juveniles,
arsons, burglaries, frauds, deaths, and identity thefts.
In 1999, Chief Bailey was promoted to the rank of Sergeant
and ran the Detective Bureau as the Detective Sergeant.
During his tenure as the head of the Detective Bureau, he
trained several detectives.
Chief Bailey was reassigned to the Patrol Division
as a Patrol Sergeant in charge of running a squad before
being promoted to Lieutenant in 2002 and since then has
been assigned to all areas of the Police Department.
On March 15, 2006 Chief Bailey was sworn in as Washington
Township's Chief of Police, the fourth Chief of Police since
the inception of the department.
