Brian Szymanski
Sergeant

Brian SzymanskiSergeant Szymanski joined the Police Department on August 1, 1995 and served the Patrol Division until he transferred to the Community Policing Unit in 1998.

He has served as a D.A.R.E. and T.A.C (Teens Against Crime) Officer from 1998 until 2001. In 2002 he was promoted to Corporal and assigned to a patrol squad. In 2004 he was assigned to the Detective Bureau and served as the Juvenile Officer.

Sergeant Szymanski was promoted to Sergeant in November 2006, and is currently assigned to the Patrol Division.

Corporal Szymanski is also an instructor in Firearms, Rifle and Pepper Spray. Brian is a charter member of the Kiwanis Club of Long Valley and has served as the Treasurer since 2001.

Corporal Szymanski has received the Exceptional Duty Award, the Chief’s Award, and and Award for Honorable Service. Brian enjoys serving his community and spending time with his family. He also loves boating and offshore fishing.
