Bartley Road Crash Injures Three

Med-evac of injured passenger required


A one car motor vehicle crash closed Bartley Road for several hours on October 20, 2005. The accident occurred after a 17 year old male resident of Long Valley lost control of his 1996 BMW and spun out of control into the woods on the north side of Bartley Road. The crash occurred around 2PM, west of Naughright Road, and east of Palmer Park.

The Fairmount Fire Company, Long Valley Volunteer Fire Company, and a MEDIC Unit responded to the scene. A 16 year old passenger, a Long Valley resident, required evacuation by helicopter to the trauma center at Morristown Memorial Hospital for head injuries. The NJ State Police Northstar helicopter responded to Palmer Park. The driver and an additional 16 year old passenger, also a Long Valley resident, were transported to Morristown Memorial Hospital by the Long Valley First Aid Squad.

The investigation is continuing, with the assistance of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office. Charges in the incident are pending.
