Mid-Day House FireFire Primarily Damaged ExteriorFire Departments from Washington Township quickly extinguished a fire at a Hackelbarney Road residence. Apparatus from Chester and the NJ State Park Police additionally assisted in the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but is not considered suspicious. Preliminary reports indicate an electric pipe heater may be at cause. The temperature was about 20F at the time of the incident. Fire damage was limited to one room and the exterior. Smoke filled the majority of the residence, causing additional damage. The residence was occupied at the time of the fire. The resident, who was uninjured, was pleased at the quick response and stated "I can't believe how quickly they got here! I put down the phone and there they were." Units remained at the scene until fire officials were satisfied re-ignition would not occur. |
