Hurricane Katrina Disaster Donations


Starting Thursday, September 15, 2005, Washington Township will start receiving donations for the Gulf Coast victims of hurricane Katrina. Yannuzzi Disposal Services Inc, of Orange, NJ is facilitating the transport and local distribution to relief agencies for the eventual distribution by the American Red Cross in the affected areas.

Only the following items are being accepted. Although there may be other items needed in the area, these are the only items that are currently being accepted. Donation of items not on the list will only delay the delivery of the requested items.

    • Peanut Butter
    • Canned Pasta
    • Canned Beef Stew
    • Canned Chili
    • Disposable Diapers

The container for collections is located at the Washington Township Department of Public Works at 54 Rock Road (just South of Rock Spring Park and Police Headquarters). The container will be open during the day and evenings for drop offs.
