"Big Turn" Accident Injures One

Sunday Afternoon Accident Results in Minor Injuries

An early afternoon motor vehicle crash just north of the "Big Turn" on Schooley's Mountain Road injured the driver in an overturned vehicle. Patrol Officer Brobst investigated the 12:29PM accident involving two vehicles.

A 17 year old female resident of Long Valley was driving her 1996 Jeep Cherokee north on Schooley’s Mountain Road when she crossed over the centerline of Schooley’s Mountain Road and struck a 2001 BMW SUV traveling south. The BMW was operated by a 43 year old female resident of Hackettstown who attempted to avoid the other vehicle, but was unable. The BMW subsequently struck the embankment on the side of the road and overturned.

The BMW driver was transported to Hackettstown Community Hospital for treatment. The jeep was driven from the scene by the driver who was uninjured and summonsed for the accident. The BMW was towed from the scene.
