8/30/2003 01:30 HRS PATROL ARREST
Patrol Officer Wallenstein, assisted by Sergeant Adams, arrested a 20 year old male resident of Washington Township for consuming alcohol while underage near the Stardust Diner.  The individual was transported to Headquarters, processed and released to responsible parties.

BURGLARY
St. Mark's Parish reported that it appeared that the church was broken into sometime during the night.  A rear window was smashed.  St Mark's advised that increased monitoring of the area is ongoing.  The Detective Bureau processed the scene for evidence.  The matter is under continuing investigation.

 

8/27/2003 13:30 HRS THEFT
A Manor Hill resident reported that someone entered the garage of the residence and removed the lawnmower.  The resident stated that the theft occurred sometime between August 24 and August 27th. 

The lawnmower is a John Deer L100 riding mower, valued at approximately $1,600.  The Detective Bureau responded to the scene.

FRAUD
The Detective Bureau investigated a report of a fraud involving used cars. 

      The victim reported that she was contacted by an individual from overseas, who offered to purchase her vehicle.  The purchaser stated that a shipping agent would contact her and make arrangements for the vehicle to be shipped overseas.  The purchaser sent the victim too much money by check, stated that his secretary had made an error the overage should be sent back of the victims account. 

      The victim deposited the checks into her account, and waited before mailing the balance back.  The check bounced.  Detective Bureau was aware of other occurrences and has been in contact with the FBI.

MOTOR VEHICLE ARREST
Patrol Officer Allen arrested a juvenile after stopping the vehicle he was driving for motor vehicle violations. The juvenile supplied fictitious information relating to his identity.  He was charged with hindering apprehension and a variety of MV complaints.  He was released to a parent.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Patrol Officer Wallenstein issued a warrant for a resident of Glassboro as a result of a Final Restraining Order (FRO) being violated.  The order prohibited communication between the individuals party to the FRO, and the defendant contacted the victim.  Judge Frank Leanza determined there was probable cause for the violation of the order, and Superior Court Judge Thomas Critchley set bail at $ 5000.00/ROR.  Sgt. Adams contacted the defendant, who turned himself into the Glassboro Police Department for service and processing.

 

8/20/2003

 

MISSING PERSON (JUVENILE)
Patrol Officer Hade investigated a report of a missing juvenile who left his residence and did not return.  The Morris County Prosecutor's Office was contacted, and the Morris County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit responded to the scene.  The K-9 was unable to locate the juvenile.  The juvenile was entered NCIC, and a statewide teletype was broadcast.  The juvenile returned home later that evening.

PATROL ARREST
Patrol Officer Wallenstein and Patrol Officer Allen arrested three male residents of Long Valley  for possession of alcohol while underage. One of the individuals was also charged with possession of CDS (marijuana) under 50 grams.  All were transported to Headquarters, processed and released pending a court appearance.
