8/31/03 to 09/03/03

9/06/2003 9:00 PM CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
A resident of the Gentry Hills section of town reported that their mailbox was vandalized.  The caller reported that the mailbox was removed from it's post and the supporting post was damaged.

Patrol Officer Brobst investigated and determined that the damage is approximately $100.

9/6/2003 02:43 AM PATROL ARREST (JUVENILE)
Patrol Officer Wurtemberg, assisted by Sgt. Almer, arrested three 17 year old males for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor, at a motor vehicle stop on Coleman Road. 

Two of the juveniles resided in Mendham, the other resided in Chester.  The juveniles were transported to Headquarters and released to responsible parties.

9/06/2003 12:49 AM PATROL ARREST
Patrol Officer Gilligan, assisted by Sergeant Almer, arrested a male resident, age 42, of East Mill Road, Long Valley, NJ, , for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on Schooley's Mountain Road.  The individual was transported to Headquarters for a breathalyzer test and processing.

The arrested driver refused to provide samples of his breath for testing at Headquarters, and was charged with Refusal to Submit to a Breath Test.   The subject was released to a responsible party.

9/5/2003 4:44 PM CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
A Fairview Avenue residents reported that their mailbox was damaged and a dead animal was placed in the mailbox.

9/05/2003 5:18 PM BURGLARY
A Naughright Road resident reported that their residence was forcibly entered, ransacked and apparently items were removed.  Sgt. Almer, Patrol Officer Burns and Detective Marut initiated the investigation.  The Morris County Sheriff's Department CID Unit and the
Morris County Sheriff's Department K-9 Unit responded to the scene.

Investigation indicated that the individuals responsible may have parked in the driveway.  The investigation is ongoing. 

If anyone observed a suspicious vehicle on Naughright Road between Arrowhead Drive and Spring Lane on the afternoon/evening of Friday, September 5, please contact Detective Marut of the Washington Township Police Department at 908.876.3232

9/02/2003 11:28 AM VANDALISM
A resident off West Springtown Road reported vandalism to their house and vehicle.  Unknown individuals threw eggs at the house and vehicle.
