BURGLARY
While participating in the investigation of the Fairmont Road burglary,
Special Officer Mitkus determined the Fairmont Fire Company had been
burglarized. Sergeant Bratus initiated an investigation and determined
property was removed from the building.
Detective Sergeant Pellegrino responded to the scene. The Morris
County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Unit responded to process the
scene. The investigation was turned over to the Detective Bureau and is
continuing. |

BURGLARY
The alarm company of a
Fairmont Road
business reported that the burglar alarm had been activated for the
business. Patrol Officer Micco initiated an investigation and
determined a burglary occurred.
Sergeant Bratus, Detective Sergeant Pellegrino, and Sergeant
Riley a K-9 Officer from the Independence Township Police Department,
assisted Officer Micco with his investigation
The investigation is continuing. |

PATROL
ARREST
Patrol Officer Gilligan arrested a 29 year old male resident of
Washington Township for Burglary, Theft of a Motor Vehicle, and theft of
Moveable Property ($700 Cash) after completing an investigation relating
to the theft of a motor vehicle at Peachtree Village on
September 16, 2003.
The motor vehicle was recovered by the Dover Police Department
(Morris) earlier in the week. Washington Township Municipal Judge
Leanza set bail for the defendant at $45,000. The individual was unable
to post the bail and was lodged in the Morris County Correctional
Facility. |

PATROL
ARREST (DWI)
Patrol Officer Burns arrested a 49 year old male resident of Washington
Township for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on
Pleasant Grove Road.
The vehicle was impounded in accordance with “Johns Law” and the
defendant was transported to police Headquarters for a breathalyzer test
and processing
The driver was additionally charged with careless driving, and
failure to keep right. The subject was released to a responsible party. |

THEFT
A West Mill Road business owner reported that the business sign was
removed from the building. Patrol Officer Gilligan initiated an
investigation. The owner stated that additional objects were removed
from the premises, and that the value of the sign was not immediately
available.
The investigation is continuing. |

PATROL ARREST (DWI)
Patrol Officer Bigham arrested a 32 year old male resident of Port
Murray for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on Newburgh Road, after the
individual was involved in a motor vehicle accident. The individual’s
vehicle struck a bridge. The Mansfield First Aid Squad treated the
individual at the scene and transported the individual to Hackettstown
Hospital.
The Morris
County Bridge Authority, The Department of Environmental Protection and
a Morris County HAZMAT Team responded to the scene of the accident.
Sergeant Eric Trevena assisted in the investigation.
The
arrested driver was additionally charged with careless driving and was
released by the Hospital to a responsible party. |

PATROL ARREST
Patrol Officer Brobst arrested a 42 year old male resident of Passaic on
a $5,110 contempt of court warrant. The individual was unable to post
the bail and was lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility. |

DRUG ARREST
Patrol Officer Bigham arrested a male resident, age 20, of
Long Valley
for possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of
Paraphernalia, on Camp Washington Road, after the vehicle the individual
was riding in was stopped for being unregistered. The driver of the
vehicle was issued a summons for operating an unregistered motor
vehicle.
The
individual was transported to police Headquarters, processed and
released in his own recognizance pending an appearance in court. |

PATROL ARREST
Sergeant Bratus arrested a male resident, age 38, of Hackettstown, NJ,
for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on westbound Route 46. The
individual was transported to Headquarters for a breathalyzer test and
processing.
The
arrested driver was additionally charged with driving while revoked.
The subject was released to a responsible party. |

While on Patrol, Patrol Officer Burns was stopped by an East Valleybrook
Road business owner who reported that their farm
stand had been burglarized. The investigation is ongoing. |

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE
A Peachtree Village resident reported that their 1992 Green Pontiac was
stolen. Patrol Officer Gilligan initiated the investigation, and
verified that the vehicle had been stolen. The vehicle was entered into
the National Crime Information Computer (NCIC) System. The
investigation is continuing. |

PATROL ARREST
Patrol Officer Allen, assisted by Patrol Officer Rady, arrested a 32
year old male resident of
Elizabeth,
NJ after the individual was stopped for speeding. The individual
provided several different names to the officers.
After
investigation, the individual was charged with giving false information
to a law enforcement officer, a disorderly persons offense, issued a
motor vehicle summons for being an unlicensed driver and was released in
his own recognizance (ROR) pending an appearance in court |
