CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
A resident of Winfield Park, NJ came to Headquarters to report that their vehicle was damaged at the Municipal Court on the preceding night.  Patrol Officer Gilligan responded and initiated an investigation.  Patrol Officer Gilligan determined the rear passenger’s side fender of a 3003 Ford pickup was severely scratched.

THEFT
A West Valley Brook Road business owner came to Headquarters to report that a cell phone was stolen.  Patrol Officer Gilligan initiated an investigation.  The owner stated an employee placed the down, and when the employee returned to retrieve the phone the phone was gone.

The investigation is continuing

FAMILY MATTER (Domestic Violence FRO)

A resident reported that they believed that the other party of the Domestic Violence Final restraining Order was violated.  Patrol Officer Wurtemberg initiated an investigation, and contacted the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Patrol Officer Wurtemberg determined that an arrest was not required.  The resident was advised to contact the Morris County Family Court for a resolution, and was provided with additional appropriate referrals.

PATROL ARREST (DWI)
Patrol Officer Bigham, assisted by Sergeant Bratus arrested a 42 year old male resident of
Washington Township for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on East Mill Road after being stopped for speeding.  The vehicle was impounded in accordance with “Johns Law” and the defendant was transported to police Headquarters for a breathalyzer test and processing

The driver was additionally charged with reckless driving, speeding and driving while revoked.  The subject was released to a responsible party.

DOG RUNNING AT LARGE
An individual reported of two dogs running in the roadway on West Springtown Road.  Patrol Officer Gilligan responded to initiate an investigation.  Patrol Officer Gilligan determined that two golden retriever dogs were running in the roadway and the residence that owned them.

Patrol Officer Gilligan was bitten by one of the dogs, and sprayed the animal with Oleoresin Capsaicin Spray (Pepper Spray) when the animal attempted to bite her for the third time.  The animals were confined and the owner was contacted and informed of the events.  The owner was summonsed with a local ordinance for allowing the dogs to run loose.

resident came to Headquarters to report that a cell phone was lost.  Sergeant Adams completed a report..

THEFT
A business owner reported that a propane heater was taken from a residence under construction.  Corporal Carvino initiated an investigation.  The owner stated that a 100 pound propane tank was removed from the premises, and that the value of the items was not immediately available.

The investigation is continuing

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE (Assault)
Patrol Officer Madden, assisted by Sergeant Bratus, investigated a possible case of Domestic Violence after a call reporting a disturbance was made to the Communications Center.. 

Patrol Officer Madden responded and  initiated an investigation, and determined an arrest was required.  The victim was advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and offered an opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order. 

A restraining order was declined..  Patrol Officer Madden assisted by Sergeant Bratus, arrested the individual for assault, turned the individual over to DYFS, who authorized release to a responsible individual.  Patrol Officer Madden additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

FRAUD (Identity Theft)
A Paula Drive resident reported that they were the victim of an identity theft.  Patrol Officer Rady initiated an investigation and determined the validity of the resident’s complaint and facts.  The resident was advised of the appropriate steps to be taken and to the action available to them.  The continuing investigation was turned over to the Detective Bureau..

ASSAULT
Patrol Officer Allen investigated a report of an assault after an individual came to Headquarters.

Patrol Officer Allen initiated an investigation and determined that an employee of a Long Valley business was threatened by a co-worker who then attempted to assault the individual.  Patrol Officer Allen advised the victim of the procedure to sign a complaint against the offender.

Sergeant Compton arrested the co-worker, a 40 year old male resident of Long Valley, NJ on January 7, 2004 on a summons issued by Washington Township Municipal Court, for Simple Assault and Terroristic Threats.  The individual was released after processing at police Headquarters pending adjudication.

A Parker Road resident called to report that they have been receiving harassing phone calls.  Patrol Officer Bigham responded to initiate an investigation.  Patrol Officer Bigham and advised the complainant what options were available, and the procedures involved, to end the harassment.  .

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Patrol Officer Hade, assisted by Sergeant Compton, investigated a possible case of Domestic Violence after an individual came to Headquarters. 

Patrol Officer Hade initiated an investigation and determined an arrest was not required.  The individual was advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and offered an opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order. 

Patrol Officer Hade assisted the individual in obtaining a temporary restraining order.  Patrol Officer Hade assisted by Sergeant Compton, served the restraining order on the other individual and seized a number of weapons.  Patrol Officer Hade additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

A Route 46 business owner reported that the business was the victim of a shoplifting.  Patrol Officer Gilligan initiated an investigation.  The owner the total value of the merchandise taken was $3,960.00.  The continuing investigation was turned over to the Detective Bureau

PATROL ARREST (Disorderly Conduct)
Corporal Pluciniak, assisted by Patrol Officer Bigham and Madden, arrested a 19 year old male resident of Long Valley, NJ for disorderly conduct after the individual repeatedly ran into traffic while intoxicated.  The individual resisted his arrest necessitating Corporal Pluciniak to subdue the individual using OC Spray (Pepper Spray).

The individual was transported to Headquarters, where during processing, he became combative and was additionally charged with Subjecting an Officer to Bodily Fluids.  The individual was released pending adjudication

Sergeant Adams arrested a 33 year old male resident of
Mount Pocono, PA on a contempt of court warrant issued by Morris County Superior Court.  The individual was transported to Headquarters, processed and turned over the Morris County Sheriff’s Department and Prosecutor’s Office.

Patrol Officer Brobst, assisted by Patrol Officer Leonardi arrested a 23year old male resident of
Bernardsville, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on East Mill Road.  The vehicle was impounded in accordance with “Johns Law” and the defendant was transported to police Headquarters for a breathalyzer test and processing

The driver was additionally charged with careless driving.  The subject was released to a responsible party.

Fawnridge Drive reported that a vehicle drove across their lawn and destroyed two mailboxes.  Patrol Officer Falleni responded and initiated an investigation.  .  Patrol Officer Falleni determined sometime after 11:00PM a vehicle drove onto the lawn.

TRESPASS
A Paula Drive resident called and reported an individual allowed their dog to go on their front lawn.  Sergeant Adams responded and initiated an investigation. 

Sergeant Adams determined the individual allowed the dog to go onto the property without the permission of the property owner.  The offender was advised not to allow the situation to re-occur.  The resident was advised of the procedure to sign a complaint against the offender.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE (Aggravated Assault)
Patrol Officers Hade, Brobst, Corporal Barnes and Sergeant Compton responded to investigate an assault in progress.  Patrol Officer Hade initiated an investigation and determined the incident fell under the criteria of the Domestic Violence Act, and an arrest was required.  The offender strangled the victim.  The victim refused transportation to the hospital for treatment.  The victim was advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and offered an opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order. 

Patrol Officer Hade assisted the individual in obtaining a temporary restraining order.  The defendant was arrested, after a short pursuit,  for Aggravated Assault, Resisting Arrest and Eluding.  The defendant was transported to the hospital for treatment and then to police Headquarters for assignment of bail and processing.  Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza set bail at $50,000 with a 10% option. 

The defendant posted bail and was released.  Patrol Officer Hade additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

Patrol Officer Allen arrested a 20 year old male resident of
Long Valley, NJ on a no bail contempt of court warrant issued by Morris County Superior Court.  The individual was turned over the Morris County Sheriff’s Department.

Patrol Officer Gilligan initiated an investigation and determined an arrest was required.  The victim was advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and offered an opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order. 

Sergeant Almer located the individual after initiating an investigation and arrested the defendant for Assault The defendant was transported to police Headquarters for an assignment of bail and processing.  Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza set bail at $2,500 with a 10% option.  The defendant posted bail and was released.  Patrol Officer Gilligan additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office
