PATROL
ARREST (DWI)
Sergeant Almer, assisted by
Corporal Carvino
and Patrol Officer Madden,
arrested a 40 year old male resident of
Washington
Township for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on
West
Springtown Road.
The vehicle was impounded in accordance with “Johns Law” and the
defendant was transported to police Headquarters for a breathalyzer test
and processing.
Upon
his arrival at Headquarters, the defendant attempted to injure
Corporal Carvino and
Patrol Officer Madden. The defendant refused to take a breathalyzer
test. The defendant was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal
to submit to a breathalyzer test, reckless driving, failure to use a
turn signal, failure to have a registration in possession, and assault
on a police officer.
Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza set bail at $25,000
with a 10% option. The defendant was unable to post bail and was
transported to the Morris County Correctional Facility pending
adjudication.

ARREST (Warrant)
Patrol Officer Burns arrested a 27 year old male resident of
Bethlehem, PA on a contempt of court warrant issued by the Washington
Township Municipal Court. Bail on the warrant was set at $300. The
individual was transported to Headquarters, processed and released on
bail pending adjudication. Prior to release, the individual posted bail
on a $250 warrant issued by the Hackettstown Municipal Court. |

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Patrol
Officers Burns, assisted by Sergeant Adams, investigated a possible case
of Domestic Violence after a resident dialed 911.
Patrol
Officer Burns initiated an investigation and determined an arrest was
required. Both
residents were advised of their rights, provided with documents related
to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and offered an
opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order
(TRO). Both individuals indicated they wanted to obtain TRO’s against
the other.
Patrol
Officer Burns assisted both individuals in obtaining temporary
restraining orders. Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza
issued TRO’s for both individuals.
One of
the individuals was arrested for Simple Assault and Terroristic
Threats. The defendant was transported to police Headquarters for a
assignment of bail and processing.
Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza set bail at $5,000 with
a Released in Own Recognizance (ROR) option. The defendant was released
in their own recognizance. Patrol Officer Burns additionally made
appropriate referrals to both parties and forwarded the results of his
investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on
Naughright Road.
The vehicle was impounded in accordance with “Johns Law” and the
defendant was transported to police Headquarters for a breathalyzer test
and processing
The
driver was additionally charged with reckless driving, and failure to
keep right. The subject was released to a responsible party.

Officers Wallenstein investigated a possible case of Domestic Violence
after an individual came to Headquarters.
Patrol
Officer Wallenstein initiated an investigation and determined an arrest
was not required, and the matter was not emergent. The individual was
advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s
rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and was advised to respond to
the Morris County Superior Court to apply for a Temporary Domestic
Violence Restraining Order, in accordance with Morris County Superior
Court directives.
Patrol
Officer Wallenstein additionally made appropriate referrals and
forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County
Prosecutor’s Office, and the
Morris
County Family Court. |

A Califon, NJ business representative reported that the company was
issued a bad check by a contractor. Sergeant Compton initiated an
investigation and determined the validity of the resident’s complaint
and facts. The business representative was advised of the procedure to
sign a criminal complaint.

A Bolton Drive
resident reported that a license plate, NJ registration
PFT13G,
was lost. Corporal Carvino completed a report, and advised the owner to
notify the police department when he remaining plate was turned in to
Motor Vehicle Services, so the plate could be entered into the NCIC
system as missing.

East Springtown road resident called reporting that they have been
receiving upsetting phone calls from their landlord. Corporal Carvino
responded to initiate an investigation. Corporal Carvino determined the
matter was civil in nature, suggested that the resident obtain legal
counsel, and made appropriate referrals.

ARREST (Warrant)
Patrol Officer Allen arrested a 32 year old male resident of
Lakewood, NJ on a contempt of court warrant issued by the Lakewood
Municipal Court. Prior to his arrest on the warrant, the individual
provided Patrol Officer Allen with a Date of Birth (DOB) that was not
his own, in an apparent attempt to avoid being arrested on the warrant.
Patrol Officer Allen charges the individual with Hindering Apprehension,
and driving without a drivers License. Bail on the warrant was set at
$500. The individual was transported to Headquarters, processed and was
released in his own recognizance.

Patrol Officer Allen arrested a 38 year old male resident of Rockaway,
NJ on a contempt of court warrant issued by the Netcong Municipal
Court. Bail on the warrant was set at $208. The individual was
transported to Headquarters, processed and turned over to the Netcong
Police Department as he was unable to post bail.
