AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
A Bloomfield, NJ called to report that he was threatened by a man with a knife at a
West Mill Road business.  Corporal Pluciniak, Sergeant Bratus, Patrol Officers Hade and Allen responded to apprehend the offender, who left the scene in a van with Arizona license plates. Corporal Pluciniak located and stopped the vehicle.  There were an additional eleven individuals in the vehicle.

Corporal Pluciniak initiated an investigation and determined a 19 year old male from Denver, CO, the operator of the vehicle, threatened an individual at the West Mill Road business with a knife, and left the business.  Subsequent investigation revealed that the occupants were illegal immigrants.  Ten of the occupants reported they paid to be transported from Arizona to the New York area.  Detective Sergeant Pellegrino, the Chester Township Police, Roxbury Township Police, Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) assisted in the investigation. 

The defendant was charged with aggravated assault and motor vehicle violations.  Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza found probable cause for the issuance of a warrant, and set bail at $25,000 with no 10% option. The defendant was unable to post bail and was transported to the Morris County Correctional Facility.  The occupants of the van were turned over to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and were transported to the ICE facility in Hudson County pending ICE adjudication.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Patrol Officers Madden, assisted by Sergeant Almer, investigated a possible case of Domestic Violence after a resident dialed 911. 

Patrol Officer Madden initiated an investigation and determined an arrest was not required.  Both resident were advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act  Patrol Officer Madden additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and DYFS.

TRESPASS
A Ranney Road Resident called to report an individual in the backyard.  Patrol Officer Falleni, Sergeant Almer, and Corporal Szymanski responded to the scene to apprehend the individual and initiate an investigation.

The individual was not on the property upon the arrival of Patrol Officer Falleni.    Patrol Officer Falleni tracked the individual’s footprints in the snow, but was unable to locate the trespasser.  The investigation is continuing.

HARASSMENT
A Drakestown Road resident called to report that they have been receiving harassing phone calls.  Patrol Officer Leonardi responded to initiate an investigation.  Patrol Officer Leonardi advised the complainant what options were available, and the procedures involved, to end the harassing phone calls.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Patrol Officers Hade and Allen, assisted by Sergeant Bratus, investigated a possible case of Domestic Violence after a resident dialed 911. 

Patrol Officer Hade initiated an investigation and determined an arrest was not required.  Both resident were advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act  Patrol Officer Madden additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and DYFS.

PATROL ARREST (DWI)
Patrol Officer Brobst, assisted by Corporal Szymanski arrested a 45 year old female resident of
Long Valley, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on East Mill Road.  The vehicle was impounded in accordance with “Johns Law” and the defendant was transported to police Headquarters for a breathalyzer test and processing

The driver was additionally charged with reckless driving, and improper backing.  The subject was released to a responsible party.

FRAUD(Identity Theft)
A Nottingham Square resident reported that they were the victim of fraud.  Patrol Officer Wurtemberg initiated an investigation and made a determination that an identity theft did not occur.  The resident was advised as to the actions available to them.

FOUND PROPERTY
A Peachtree Village resident came to Headquarters to report they found a wallet.  Patrol Officer Rady responded, and returned the wallet to the owner, a West Morris High School Student.

A Beacon Hill Road resident reported newspapers were dumped in their driveway.  Patrol Officer Burns responded and initiated an investigation.

POLICE INFORMATION
A Washington Township resident reported they read an article in the newspaper regarding a hit and run fatal motor vehicle accident in Morristown.  The caller believed they had information relating to the incident.  Sergeant Adams responded and initiated an investigation.  Sergeant Adams forwarded the information to the Morristown Police Department.  As a result of the investigation, The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office charged Richard S. Pontown, a 2000 graduate of West Morris Central High School, with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident that resulted in death, a third-degree felony.  Bail in the incident was set at $25,000.  Pontown was released pending adjudication.  (See Associated Article)

PATROL ARREST (Warrant)
Patrol Officer Bigham arrested a 21 year old male resident of
Hackettstown, NJ and 42 year old resident of Hackettstown, NJ, following a motor vehicle stop, for contempt of court warrants issued by the Washington Township Municipal Court and the Roxbury Township Municipal Court.  Bail for the 21 year old male was set at $75, and bail for the 42 year old female was set at $433.  Both individuals were transported to Headquarters, processed and released on bail pending adjudication.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Patrol Officers Gilligan, assisted by Sergeant Bratus, investigated a possible case of Domestic Violence after a resident dialed 911. 

Patrol Officer Gilligan initiated an investigation and determined an arrest was not required.  Both residents were advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and offered an opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order.  Both declined a TRO.  Patrol Officer Gilligan additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

BURGLARY

A West Mill Road resident reported by 911 their home was burglarized.  Corporal Corvino, assisted by Detective Corporal Micco responded to initiate an investigation.  Sergeant First Class Brader, Sergeant. Almer, and Patrol Officer Madden responded to assist the investigation. 

The individual was not in or about the premises upon their arrival.  The Morris County Sheriff’s Office Canine Unit responded to assist in the investigation.  Detective Corporal Micco processed the scene.  The Morris County Sheriff’s Office Canine Unit was unable to locate the prowler.  The resident indicated that nothing appeared to have been taken. 

Detective Corporal Micco continued the investigation and determined a Nintendo game cube and other assorted items, valued at $700 were taken.  Continuing the investigation, Detective Corporal Micco recovered the property and determined the identity of the individuals responsible for the burglary.  The investigation is continuing with the High Bridge Police Department and the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Patrol Officer Hade, assisted by Corporal Pluciniak, investigated a possible violation of a Domestic Violence Final Restraining Order (FRO) after a resident called the Communications Center. 

Patrol Officer Hade initiated an investigation and determined an arrest was required, as a violation of the order did occur.  Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza was contacted, and the Judge found probable cause to issue an arrest warrant.  Patrol Officer Hade and Corporal Pluciniak, located and arrested the defendant.  The individual was transported to Headquarters for processing. 

Superior Court Judge Ahto was contacted and Judge Ahto set bail at $1,000 with a 10% option. The defendant posted bail, and was released.  Officer Hade additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

PATROL ARREST (DWI)
Corporal Pluciniak arrested a 20 year old male resident of
Hackettstown, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on Newburgh Road.  The vehicle was impounded in accordance with “Johns Law” and the defendant was transported to police Headquarters for a breathalyzer test and processing.

The driver was released to a responsible party.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Patrol Officers Allen, assisted by Sergeant Compton, investigated a possible case of Domestic Violence after an individual came to Headquarters.. 

Patrol Officer Allen initiated an investigation and determined an arrest was required.  The individual was advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and offered an opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order. (TRO) 

Patrol Officer Allen assisted the individual in obtaining a temporary restraining order.  Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza was contacted, and the Judge found probable cause to issue a TRO and an arrest warrant.  The warrant was served by the Peapack/Gladstone Police Department  served the restraining order on the defendant.  The defendant was transported to Headquarters for processing and the setting of bail.  Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza set bail at $2,500 with a 10% option. The defendant was unable to post bail and was transported to the Morris County Correctional Facility.  Patrol Officer Allen additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

PATROL ARREST (Warrant)
Patrol Officer Falleni arrested a 51 year old male resident of Clifton, NJ on a contempt of court warrants issued by the Long Hill Township Municipal Court and the Garfield City Municipal Court.  Bail on the warrants totaled $879.  The individual was transported to Headquarters, processed and released on bail pending adjudication.

PATROL ARREST (Warrant)
Patrol Officer Bigham arrested a 31 year old male resident of
Bangor, PA on a contempt of court warrant issued by the Independence Township Municipal Court.  Bail on the warrant was set at $550.

Patrol Officer Bigham determined the individual was in possession of a weapon, and was additionally charged with weapons possession.  Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza set bail at $2,500 with a released in his own recognizance (ROR) option.  The individual was ROR’ed on both warrants pending adjudication. 

The individual was additionally charged with being an unlicensed driver and operating a motor vehicle while operating privileges were suspended.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Patrol Officer Brobst, assisted by Sergeant Compton, and Patrol Officer Wallenstein investigated a possible case of Domestic Violence after a resident dialed 911. 

Patrol Officer Brobst initiated an investigation and determined an arrest was required.  Both residents were advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and the victim was offered an opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order (TRO).  The victim indicated they wanted to obtain TRO’s.  Patrol Officer Brobst assisted the victim in obtaining a temporary restraining order.  Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza issued a TRO’s against the offender.  The Offender was arrested for Aggravated Assault and Criminal Mischief.  Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza set bail at $25,000.  The defendant served with the TRO, processed and transported to Morris County Correctional facility as the defendant was unable to post bail.  Patrol Officer Brobst additionally made appropriate referrals to both parties and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.
