DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Sergeant Almer, assisted by Corporal Corvino and Patrol Officer Madden investigated a possible case of Domestic Violence after a resident called Headquarters. 

Sergeant Almer initiated an investigation and determined an arrest was not required.  Both residents were advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and offered an opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order.  Both residents declined the opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order. Sergeant Almer additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

PATROL ARREST (Consumption of Alcohol Underage)
Headquarters received a report of underage drinking.  Corporal Pluciniak, assisted by Sergeant Bratus and Patrol Officer Allen responded to initiate an investigation.  Corporal Pluciniak determined a number of individuals not of the legal age to consume alcohol were consuming alcohol at a residence.  A number of the participants were released to their parent or guardian, and Corporal Pluciniak charged a juvenile female for allowing the consumption of alcohol by underage individuals at her residence.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
A Kings Highway
resident reported that their mailbox was repeatedly damaged.  Patrol Officer Madden initiated an investigation, and determined the post for the mailbox was damaged on March 3rd and the mailbox was completely broken off on March 4th.  The investigation is continuing. Residents of the area are encouraged to report any suspicious or unusual activity in the area.

PATROL ARREST (DWI)
Patrol Officer Brobst arrested a 22 year old male resident of Washington Township for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on Schooley’s Mountain Road.  The vehicle was impounded in accordance with “Johns Law” and the defendant was transported to police Headquarters for a breathalyzer test and processing

The driver was additionally charged with reckless driving, and failure to keep right.  The subject was released to a responsible party.

ASSISTANCE
A Whitehouse Road resident reported to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) a chemical smell in their basement.  DEP contacted Headquarters and Patrol Officer Burns, assisted by Sergeant First Class Braeder, Sergeant Adams, and the Washington Township Fire Company responded to the scene to initiate an investigation.  Patrol Officer Burns determined, after consultation with the Fire Company, there was no hazardous material spill or damage to the residence.

Patrol Officer Burns made other appropriate recommendations to the resident.

THEFT
A Hackettstown, NJ resident came to Headquarters to report that a cell phone was stolen.  Patrol Officer Bigham initiated an investigation.  The resident stated the phone, an silver LG by Verizon, model 510, was removed from their vehicle.  The investigation is continuing.

PATROL ARREST (Warrant)
Patrol Officer Bigham arrested a 54 year old male resident of Flanders, NJ on a contempt of court warrants issued by the Washington Township Municipal Court and the Mendham Township Municipal Court .  Bail on the warrants totaled $1,085.  The individual was transported to Headquarters, processed and released on bail pending adjudication.

FRAUD
A Hackettstown, NJ resident came to Headquarters to report a debit card fraud.  Patrol Officer Brobst initiated an investigation.  The resident stated they made a purchase at a local store, and a later examination of financial records indicated a larger amount than anticipated was charged.  The investigation is continuing.

HARASSMENT
A Dellwood Drive resident called to report that they have been receiving harassing phone calls.  Patrol Officer Wurtemberg responded to initiate an investigation.  Patrol Officer Wurtemberg contacted the Detective Bureau and advised the complainant what options were available, and the procedures involved, to end the harassment.

PATROL ARREST (DWI)
Corporal Pluciniak, assisted by Sergeant Bratus arrested a 61 year old male resident of
Califon, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on West Mill Road, after the individual was involved in a motor vehicle crash.  The individual was injured in the crash and was transported to Morristown Memorial Hospital by the Long Valley First Aid Squad.  Corporal Pluciniak responded to the hospital, arrested the driver and obtained a blood sample from the defendant

The driver was additionally charged with careless driving.  The subject was admitted to the hospital.

NOISE COMPLAINT
A Drakestown Road resident called to report barking dogs.  Patrol Officer Hade responded to initiate an investigation.  Patrol Officer Hade advised the complainant of the procedure to sign a complaint and additionally made appropriate referrals.

THEFT OF PROPERTY
A Squire Hill Road
resident reported that a EZ Pass was removed from their vehicle.  Corporal Corvino completed a report and additionally made appropriate referrals.

Corporal Pluciniak, assisted by Sergeant Bratus, investigated a possible violation of a Final Restraining Order (FRO)after a resident called Headquarters.

Corporal Pluciniak initiated an investigation and determined an arrest was not required.  Corporal Pluciniak determined a violation of a FRO did not occur, and additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

PATROL ARREST (Warrant)
Patrol Officer Leonardi arrested a 21 year old male resident of
Long Valley, NJ on a contempt of court warrant issued by the Bedminster Township Municipal Court.  Bail on the warrant was set at $316.  The individual was transported to Headquarters, processed and turned over to the custody of the Bedminster Police Department as he was unable to post bail.

PATROL ARREST (Warrant)
Patrol Officer Bigham arrested a 50 year old male resident of
Bangor, PA on a contempt of court warrant issued by the Bridgewater Municipal Court.  Bail on the warrant was set at $500.  The individual was transported to Headquarters, processed and released in his own recognizance in accordance with Bridgewater Township Municipal Court instructions.

LOST PROPERTY
A Windswept Way
resident reported that a license plate was lost.  Patrol Officer completed a report, and advised the owner to notify the police department when the remaining plate was turned in to Motor Vehicle Services, so the plate could be entered into the NCIC system as missing.

The resident turned in the remaining plate on March 3, 2004 to the Division of Motor Vehicle Services and the plates were entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) files.
