PATROL ARREST (DWI)
Patrol Officer Bigham arrested a 22 year old male resident of Long Valley for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on
East Springtown Road.  The vehicle was impounded in accordance with “Johns Law” and the defendant was transported to Police Headquarters for a breathalyzer test and processing

The driver was additionally charged with reckless driving, and failure to keep right.  The subject was released to a responsible party.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Patrol Officer Burns investigated a report of harassment after a resident called Headquarters. 

Patrol Officer Burns initiated an investigation and determined the incident was covered by the Domestic Violence Act, and an arrest was not required. 

The complainant was advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and offered an opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order.  The victim declined the opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order. Patrol Officer Burns additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

PATROL ARREST (Warrant)
Patrol Officer Bigham arrested a 23 year old male resident of
Vernon, NJ on a contempt of court warrant issued by Municipal Court Judge Leanza of Washington Township at Municipal Court.  The warrant was a no bail warrant for violation of probation, and the individual was transported to the Morris County Correctional facility to serve a thirty day sentence.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Patrol Officers Hade, assisted by Sergeant Adams, investigated a possible case of Domestic Violence after a resident called Police Headquarters. 

Patrol Officer Hade initiated an investigation and determined an arrest was not required.  All involved parties were advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and offered an opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order(TRO).  All parties declined the opportunity.  Patrol Officer Hade additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Patrol Officers Falleni, assisted by Sergeant Almer, investigated a possible case of Domestic Violence after a resident dialed 911. 

Patrol Officer Falleni initiated an investigation and determined an arrest was required.  Detective Marut responded to the scene for evidence processing.  Both involved parties were advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and the victim was offered an opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order (TRO).  The victim indicated they wanted to obtain TRO’s against the offender. 

Patrol Officer Falleni arrested the offender for criminal mischief and simple assault.  The defendant was transported to Police Headquarters for issuance of a warrant and processing.

The Long Valley First Aid Squad responded and transported the victim to Hackettstown Community Hospital for treatment.  Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza determined there was sufficient probable cause for the issuance of a warrant, and the defendant was issued a warrant.  Bail was set at $5,000 with no 10% option.  The defendant was unable to post bail, and was transported to the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail, pending adjudication.  Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza issued a TRO against the offender after the victim’s treatment. 

Patrol Officer Falleni additionally made appropriate referrals to both parties and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

PATROL ARREST (Warrant)
Patrol Officer Falleni arrested a 32 year old male resident of Parlin, NJ on a contempt of court warrant issued by the Washington Township Municipal Court.  Bail on the warrant was set at $50,000.  The individual released on bail pending adjudication.

BURGLARY
A
West Mill Road resident called to report their residence was burglarized.  Patrol Officer Bigham responded to the scene to initiate an investigation.

Patrol Officer Bigham determined entry to the residence was forced, and itemized those items that were stolen from the premises and their value.  Detective Corporal Micco responded and processed the scene.  The investigation is continuing.

Patrol Officers Burns, assisted by Corporal Barnes, investigated a possible case of Domestic Violence after a resident dialed 911. 

Patrol Officer Burns initiated an investigation and determined an arrest was required.  Both residents were advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and offered an opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order (TRO).  Both individuals indicated they did not want to obtain a TRO.  One of the individuals was arrested for Criminal Mischief.  The defendant was transported to Police Headquarters for assignment of bail and processing.  Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza set bail at $7,500 with a 10% option.  The defendant was released in on bail.  Patrol Officer Burns additionally made appropriate referrals to both parties and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

RECOVERED STOLEN MOTOR VEHICLE

A West Mill Road resident called to report a suspicious motor vehicle on their property.  Patrol Officer Oranchak responded to initiate an investigation.  Patrol Officer Oranchak determined the vehicle, a silver 2003 Volkswagen Passat, was reported as stolen from West Milford, NJ. 

Detective Corporal Micco responded and processed the scene. The vehicle was taken into evidence.  Patrol Officer Oranchak completed his investigation and turned the matter over to the detective bureau.  The investigation is continuing.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
A resident of the Nestling Wood Section of Long Valley, reported that their vehicle was damaged while parked in the driveway.  Patrol Officer Brobst responded and initiated an investigation.  .  Patrol Officer Brobst determined a pair of emblems were removed from the vehicle, a 1991 Red Dodge.  Patrol Officer Brobst advised the property owner as to the procedure to sign a complaint with the Township Court.  The investigation is continuing.

A resident of
Naughright Road reported that their property was damaged.  Patrol Officer Brobst responded and initiated an investigation.  .  Patrol Officer Brobst determined a fence and the driveway were “egged”.  The investigation is continuing.

A resident of
Beacon Hill Road reported that their property was damaged.  Patrol Officer Brobst responded and initiated an investigation.  .  Patrol Officer Brobst determined pieces of raw chicken and fish were placed in their mailbox.  The complainant indicated vandalism, although not reported to the Police Department, has occurred before.  The investigation is continuing.

Patrol Officer Burns initiated an investigation and determined an arrest was not required.  As part of the investigations both members of the household were advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and offered an opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order.  A member of the Crisis Response Team (CRT) was called to Headquarters to assist in the matter, and met with the victim. The victim declined the opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order. Patrol Officer Burns additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.
