DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Patrol Officer Madden, assisted by Corporal Corvino, investigated a possible case of Domestic Violence after a resident called Headquarters. 

Patrol Officer Madden initiated an investigation and determined an arrest was not required.  Both residents were advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and offered an opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order.  Both residents declined the opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order. Patrol Officer Madden additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

PATROL ARREST (DWI)
Patrol Officer Falleni arrested a 21 year old male resident of Washington Township for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on
Flocktown Road.  The vehicle was impounded in accordance with “Johns Law” and the defendant was transported to Police Headquarters for a breathalyzer test and processing

The driver was additionally charged with reckless driving, and failure to keep right.  The subject was released to a responsible party.

RACCOON BITE
Hackettstown Hospital reported a Drakestown Road resident was bitten/scratched by an injured raccoon.  Patrol Officer Madden initiated an report and forwarded the report to the Health Department and the Animal Control Officer.

PATROL ARREST (Warrant)
Patrol Officer Madden arrested a 19 year old male resident of
Hackettstown, NJ on a contempt of court warrant issued by the Washington Township Municipal Court.  Bail on the warrant was set at $116.  The individual was transported to Headquarters, processed and released pending adjudication.

ABANDONED MOTOR VEHICLE
A Fairview Road resident reported a vehicle that appeared to be abandoned.  Patrol Officer Falleni responded to initiate an investigation.  Patrol Officer Falleni determined the vehicle, a 1986 silver Honda, belonged to a Morris Township resident, and the owner did not have permission to leave the vehicle where it was.

Patrol Officer Falleni attempted to contact the owner of the vehicle over a period of time and was unable.  Patrol Officer Falleni advised the property owner as to the procedure to file a complaint with the Municipal Court.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Corporal Corvino investigated a possible case of harassment after a resident called Headquarters. 

Corporal Corvino determined an the incident fell under the Domestic Violence Act, and an arrest was not required.  The complainant was advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and offered an opportunity to meet with a member of the Crisis Response Team (CRT), and apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order (TRO).  The complainant met with the CRT member and requested a TRO. Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza was contacted and issued a TRO. 

The offender is believed to be in Florida and the Lee County (FL) Sheriff’s Department was provided with the TRO for service. Corporal Corvino additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

An East Gate Road resident came to Headquarters to report that they lost a Verizon 120-E cell phone.  Patrol Officer Hade completed a report.

A Wherli Road
resident reported a Canon PowerShot G3 digital camera was either lost or stolen from their residence.  The camera is valued at $893.  Corporal Barnes completed a report

A resident of
Naughright Road resident reported that a delivery person damaged a lawn barrel while making a U turn in their driveway.  Patrol Officer Bigham responded to take a report.

HARASSMENT
A
West Mill Road resident called to report that they have been harassed.  Patrol Officer Wurtemberg responded and initiated an investigation.  Patrol Officer Wurtemberg determined the individual received a profane phone call from her ex-employer, and advised the complainant what options were available to the complainant regarding the matter.

A Parker Road
resident came to Headquarters to report that a travelers check was lost.  Corporal McCarthy completed a report.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
An administrator of the Long Valley Middle School reported to Sergeant Niemynski the school was investigating a report by a resident of Beacon Hill Road.  The resident reported their vehicle, a 2004 Jeep Wagon, was damaged while traveling on West Mill Road as a result of something thrown from a school bus.  Sergeant Niemynski initiated an investigation and determined the would cost $450 to repair.  A number of individuals were interviewed and the investigation was turned over to Detective Sergeant Pellegrino.

ASSAULT
Patrol Officer Gilligan investigated a report of an assault after a report to Headquarters.

Patrol Officer Gilligan initiated an investigation and determined that a student of West Morris High School was assaulted by a student at the school.  Corporal Pluciniak and Detective Sergeant Pellegrino responded to the school.  Patrol Officer Gilligan spoke with school administration and the victim’s family, and advised the victim of the procedure to sign a complaint against the offender.

FRAUD
A Mountain View Road resident reported that they were the victim of theft.  Patrol Officer Hade initiated an investigation and determined the victim contracted with a contractor to install a pool at the victim’s residence.  The resident stated a payment was made for the work, and they have been unable to contact the contractor since.  The pool installation was not started.  Patrol Officer Hade advised the victim as to the action available to them, and the procedure to file a criminal complaint.

THEFT
A Schooley’s
Mountain Road resident came to Headquarters to report a number of items were stolen from their residence.  Corporal Pluciniak initiated an investigation.  The victim reported approximately $56,000 worth of property was removed from their residence.  The individual suspects their ex-spouse.  The investigation is continuing

Corporal Pluciniak advised the victim as to the action available to them, and the procedure to file a criminal complaint.

Patrol Officers Hade, assisted by Sergeant Compton, investigated a possible case of Domestic Violence after an individual came to Headquarters.

Patrol Officer Falleni initiated an investigation and determined an arrest was not required.  The individual was advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and offered an opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order.  Patrol Officer Falleni assisted the individual in obtaining a temporary restraining order.  Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza was contacted and declined to issue a TRO’s for the victim.

Patrol Officer Falleni additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

TRESPASS
A Steeple Chase Way resident called to report an individual peering into the window of their residence.  Patrol Officer Madden, assisted by Sergeant Almer, responded to the scene to apprehend the individual and initiate an investigation.

The individual was not on the property upon the arrival of Patrol Officer Madden, who interviewed the victims.  The victims provided a description and possible identity of the suspect.  Sergeant Almer located the suspect, whose clothing matched the description provided by the victims.  The suspect denied being at the premises.  Sergeant Almer advised the victim as to the action available to them, and the procedure to file a criminal complaint.

The investigation is continuing.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Patrol Officer Hade investigated a report of Domestic Violence after an individual called Headquarters.

Patrol Officer Hade initiated an investigation and determined an arrest was not required as any interaction between the two parties was strictly conversational.  Both individuals advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act.  Patrol Officer Hade additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and the Morris County Superior Court, Family Division.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Corporal Pluciniak investigated a possible violation of a Final Restraining Order (FRO) after a resident called Headquarters.

Corporal Pluciniak initiated an investigation and determined a violation of the FRO occurred.  Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza was contacted and determined probable cause existed for the issuance of a warrant.  Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza issued a no bail arrest warrant for the offender.

Corporal Pluciniak additionally made appropriate referrals to both parties and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

DOG RUNNING AT LARGE
A Heron Drive
resident called to report a dog was running loose in the neighborhood.  Patrol Officer Rady responded to the scene to initiate an investigation.

Patrol Officer Rady the animal attacked a groundhog, and additionally determined the owner of the animal.  Patrol Officer Rady issued a complaint for having a dog run loose, and forwarded documents related to his investigation to the Health Department and the Animal Control Officer.

PATROL ARREST (Distribution of Alcohol to Underage Individuals)
Patrol Officer Burns, assisted by Corporal Pluciniak and Sergeant Adams, arrested an 20 year old male resident of Long Valley, NJ for distributing alcohol to underage individuals, after responding to a report of a loud party on Ramsey Way.

The individual was transported to police Headquarters processed, and released in his own recognizance pending adjudication.

Patrol Officer Brobst initiated an investigation and determined the incident fell under the Domestic Violence Act, and an arrest was not required.  The complainant was advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and offered an opportunity to meet with a member of the Crisis Response Team (CRT), and apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order (TRO).  The complaint requested assistance in obtaining a TRO. Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza issued a TRO’s against the offender.
