BURGLARY
A
West Mill Road resident called to report their residence was burglarized.  Patrol Officer Burns, assisted by Corporal Barnes, responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.

Patrol Officer Burns advised the complainant of their rights under the NJ Domestic Violence Prevention Act.   The complainant declined the opportunity to obtain a temporary restraining order (TRO).  The investigation is continuing.

NOISE COMPLAINT
A Markham Drive resident called to report noise.  Patrol Officer Brobst responded to initiate an investigation.  Patrol Officer Brobst spoke with the parties involved, advised the complainant of the procedure to sign a complaint and additionally made appropriate referrals.

LOST PROPERTY
A
West Springtown Road resident reported that a license plate was lost.  Corporal Barnes completed a report, and advised the owner to notify the police department when the remaining plate was turned in to Motor Vehicle Services, so the plate could be entered into the NCIC system as missing.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Patrol Officer Oranchak, assisted by Corporal Szymanski, investigated a possible violation of a Final Restraining Order (FRO) after a resident called Headquarters.

Patrol Officer Oranchak initiated an investigation and determined a violation of the FRO occurred.  Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza was contacted and determined probable cause existed for the issuance of a warrant.  Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza issued a no bail arrest warrant for the offender.

Patrol Officer Oranchak additionally made appropriate referrals to both parties and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Patrol Officer Brobst investigated a possible case of Domestic Violence after a resident came to Headquarters. 

Patrol Officer Brobst initiated an investigation and determined an arrest was not required.  The victim was advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and offered an opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order (TRO).  The victim indicated they would like to obtain a TRO, and in accordance with Morris County Superior Court Guidelines, were advised to proceed to the Morris County Court House to seek assistance.  

Patrol Officer Brobst additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

THEFT

resident came to Headquarters to report that they lost a Motorola V120E cell phone.  Sergeant Bratus completed a report.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
A resident of
Peachtree Village reported that their vehicle was damaged.  Corporal Carvino responded, initiated an investigation and determined the left rear tail lamp and the radio antenna of a 1997 Chevrolet were deliberately broken.

DOG RUNNING AT LARGE
A Mallard Cove Road
resident called to report a dog ran loose in the neighborhood and attacked their dog.  Patrol Officer Falleni responded to the scene to initiate an investigation.

Patrol Officer Falleni determined the owner of the animal and that the animal in question was up to date on all required vaccinations.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Patrol Officer Rady investigated a disturbance after a resident called 911. 

Patrol Officer Rady initiated an investigation and determined an the incident fell under the Domestic Violence Act, and an arrest was not required.  The complainant was advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and offered an opportunity to meet with a member of the Crisis Response Team (CRT), and apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order (TRO).  The complainant declined meeting with the CRT member and the opportunity to apply for a TRO. Patrol Officer Rady additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

PATROL ARREST (DWI)
Patrol Officer Bigham arrested a 47 year old male resident of Hackettstown, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on Schooley’s Mountain Road.  The vehicle was impounded in accordance with “Johns Law” and the defendant was transported to Police Headquarters for a breathalyzer test and processing

The driver was additionally charged with reckless driving, and failure to keep right.  The subject was released to a responsible party.

PATROL ARREST (DWI)
Patrol Officer Bigham, assisted by Sergeant Adams and Corporal Barnes, arrested a 21 year old female resident of Kenvil, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on
Doolittle Lane, after the individual was involved in a motor vehicle crash.  The vehicle was impounded in accordance with “Johns Law”, and the individual was transported to St Clare’s Hospital by the Long Valley First Aid Squad.  Patrol Officer Bigham responded to the hospital, arrested the driver and obtained a blood sample from the defendant

The driver was additionally charged with reckless driving and having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle.  The subject was admitted to the hospital.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Patrol Officer Brobst, assisted by Sergeant Compton, initiated an investigation and determined a violation of the FRO occurred.  Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza was contacted and determined probable cause existed for the issuance of a warrant.  Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza issued a no bail arrest warrant for the offender. The warrant was forwarded to the Morris County Sheriff’s Department for Service when the defendant was located.

Patrol Officer Brobst additionally made appropriate referrals to both parties and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

ASSAULT
Patrol Officer Hade, assisted by Sergeant Bratus, investigated a report of an assault after Hackettstown Community Hospital notified the Hackettstown Police Department.

Patrol Officer Hade initiated an investigation and determined that a Hackettstown, NJ resident was assaulted at a party on Schooley’s Mountain Road.  Patrol Officer Hade advised the victim of the procedure to sign a complaint with the Washington Township Municipal Court.

ASSAULT
Corporal Pluciniak, assisted by Sergeant Bratus, Patrol Officer Hade, and the Mendham Borough Police Department investigated a report of an assault on North Four Bridges Road, after an individual called Headquarters.

Corporal Pluciniak determined a Mendham, NJ resident drove two acquaintances home from a tavern.  An altercation occurred at the residence of the first acquaintance on North Four Bridges Road, and an assault allegedly took place.  The victim left  the scene and drove away.

Mendham Borough Police Department located the victim, who indicated he did not want to pursue a complaint.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Corporal Pluciniak, assisted by Sergeant Bratus, investigated a possible case of Domestic Violence after a resident dialed 911. 

Corporal Pluciniak initiated an investigation and determined an arrest was required.  Both residents were advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and the victim was offered an opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order (TRO).  The victim indicated they were unsure if they wanted to obtain TRO. 

Patrol Officers seized a number of firearms.  The offender was arrested for Simple Assault.  The defendant was transported to Police Headquarters for assignment of bail and processing.  Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza set bail at $250 with a Released in Own Recognizance (ROR) option.  The defendant was released in their own recognizance.  Corporal Pluciniak additionally made appropriate referrals to both parties and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

HARASSMENT
A
Brookside Drive resident called to report that they have been receiving harassing phone calls.  Patrol Officer Madden responded to initiate an investigation and determined the matter started over a civil incident.   Patrol Officer Madden advised the offender to stop calling the complainant.

resident came to Headquarters to report that they lost a Verizon VX-200 cell phone.  Corporal Carvino completed a report.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Patrol Officer Hade investigated a report of a burglary in progress, after a resident called 911.  The Mount Olive Police Department was requested to assist.

Mount Olive had a suspect in custody upon the arrival of Patrol Officer Hade.  Patrol Officer Hade’s investigation determined the incident fell under the Domestic Violence Act.  The complainant was advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and offered an opportunity to meet with a member of the Crisis Response Team (CRT), and apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order (TRO). 

Patrol Officer Hade assisted the victim in obtaining a temporary restraining order.  Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza issued a TRO’s against the offender.  The Offender was charged with Criminal Trespass.  Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza set bail at $25,000 with a 10% option.  The defendant was served with the TRO, processed and transported to Morris County Correctional facility as the defendant was unable to post bail.. Patrol Officer Hade additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

PATROL ARREST (DWI)
Patrol Officer Hade arrested a 42 year old male resident of Washington Township for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on
East Mill Road.  The vehicle was impounded in accordance with “Johns Law” and the defendant was transported to Police Headquarters for a breathalyzer test and processing. The defendant refused to submit to a breath test and was charged with refusal to submit to a breathalyzer test. 

The driver was additionally charged with reckless driving, speeding, and failure to keep right.  The subject was released to a responsible party.
