A Califon Road
resident reported that they were the victim of an identity theft.
Patrol Officer Gilligan initiated an investigation and determined the
validity of the resident’s complaint and facts. The resident was
advised as to the action available to them.

DISPUTE
A caller reported a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of
Fairmount Road and Highland Avenue. Upon arriving at the scene Corporal
Carvino discovered a dispute rather than an accident. Corporal Carvino
completed a report and advised both involved individuals of the
procedure for signing a motor vehicle complaints in Municipal Court.

Patrol Officer Allen arrested a male resident, age 21, of Randolph, NJ
for possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of
Paraphernalia, on Pickle Road.
The individual was transported to Police
Headquarters, processed and released in his own recognizance pending an
appearance in court.

ARREST (DWI)
Corporal Pluciniak, assisted by Sergeant Almer arrested a 19 year old
female resident of
Pottersville,
NJ for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on
Turtleback Road,
after the individual was involved in a motor vehicle crash. Corporal
Pluciniak was assisted by Sergeant Almer, Patrol Officers Madden,
Falleni, , Sergeant Trevena, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Both
the driver and a passenger were injured in the crash and both were
transported to
Morristown
Memorial Hospital by a Med Evac helicopter with the assistance of the
Long Valley First Aid Squad. Patrol Officer Madden responded to the
hospital, arrested the driver and obtained a blood sample from the
defendant.
The driver was additionally charged with reckless driving and
failure to keep right. The passenger was admitted to the hospital. The
investigation is continuing with additional charges pending.

ARREST (DWI)
Patrol Officer Madden arrested a 32 year old male resident of
Hackettstown, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on
East Avenue.
The vehicle was impounded in accordance with “Johns Law” and the
defendant was transported to Police Headquarters for a breathalyzer test
and processing.
The driver was additionally charged with failure to maintain a
lane. The subject was released to a responsible party.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE (Assault)
Patrol
Officer Allen, assisted by Corporal McCarthy, investigated a possible
case of Domestic Violence after a resident called the Communications
Center.
Patrol
Officer Allen initiated an investigation and determined an arrest was
not required. The victim was advised of their rights, provided
with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence
Act, and offered an opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic
Violence Restraining Order (TRO).
The victim indicated they wanted to obtain a TRO against the
offender. Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza was contacted
and subsequently issued a TRO against the offender.
Patrol
Officer Allen additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the
results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Corporal McCarthy, assisted by Patrol Officers Wurtemberg, and Detective
Sergeant Pellegrino, investigated a possible case of Domestic Violence
after a resident came to Headquarters.
Corporal McCarthy initiated an investigation and determined an arrest
was required. The complainant was
advised of
their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under
the Domestic Violence Act, and offered an opportunity to apply for a
Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order (TRO) and meet with a
member of the Crisis Response Team (CRT). The victim indicated they
wanted to obtain a TRO against the offender.
Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza was contacted and
subsequently issued a TRO against the offender. The defendant
was
arrested for Harassment. Washington Township Municipal Court Judge
Leanza released the individual in their own recognizance (ROR). The
defendant served with the TRO, processed and turned over the Warren
County Sheriff’s Department as an active warrant for the defendant
existed, and they were unable to post bail. Corporal McCarthy
additionally made appropriate referrals to both parties and forwarded
the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s
Office.

Damage to the pool and objects was estimated to be approximately $720.
Following the investigation, Patrol Officer Oranchak charged a 17 year
old male resident of Long Valley with Criminal Mischief.

Order (FRO) after a resident called Headquarters.

Officer Burns initiated an investigation and determined a violation of
the FRO occurred. Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza was
contacted and determined probable cause existed for the issuance of a
warrant. Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza issued a no
bail arrest warrant for the offender.
Patrol
Officer Burns additionally made appropriate referrals to both parties
and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County
Prosecutor’s Office.
