BRUSH FIRE
Police Communications received a report of a tractor fire on Schooley’s Mountain Road.  Patrol Officer Brobst responded to initiate an investigation.  The Schooley’s Mountain Fire Protection Association responded to extinguish the fire.  Patrol Officer Brobst reported the fire involved bushes and determined  the cause of the fire may have been deliberate.  The investigation is continuing.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE (Violation of a FRO)
Patrol Officer Burns, assisted by Sergeant Compton, charged a 22 year old male resident of Hackettstown, NJ for violation of a Final Restraining Order (FRO), after receiving a report from a victim of Domestic Violence, that the offender threatened to kill them. 

Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza determined there was probable cause for the issuance of the warrant. A no bail arrest warrant was issued for the defendant.

PATROL ARREST (Warrant)
Patrol Officer Bigham arrested a 48 year old male resident of Hackettstown, NJ on a contempt of court warrant issued by the Mansfield Township Municipal Court.  Bail on the warrant was set at $350.  The individual was transported to Headquarters, processed and released on bail pending adjudication.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
A Yorkshire Drive
resident reported that their mailbox, and their neighbor’s mailbox was vandalized.  Patrol Officer Bigham spoke with the complainant and completed a report.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE (Violation of a FRO)
Patrol Officer Oranchak, charged a 22 year old male resident of Hackettstown, NJ for violation of a Final Restraining Order (FRO), after receiving a report from a victim of Domestic Violence, that the offender made threatening phone calls to them. 

Mount Olive Municipal Court Maenza determined there was probable cause for the issuance of the warrant. A no bail arrest warrant was issued for the defendant.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
A Kim Lane
resident reported that their mailbox was vandalized.  Patrol Officer Oranchak spoke with the complainant, who indicated the cost to repair the mailbox and post would be about $400.  Patrol Officer Oranchak completed a report.

PROPERTY DAMAGE
A Hickory Lane
resident reported that their vehicle was damaged at on Naughright Road when a falling limb broke their windshield.  .  Patrol Officer Rady responded, initiated an investigation and determined the windshield of a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix was shattered.  The Washington Township DPW was notified if the incident and requested to examine the tree.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Corporal Carvino, assisted by Sergeant Almer investigated a dispute after a resident called Headquarters. 

Corporal Carvino initiated an investigation and determined the incident fell under the Domestic Violence Act, and an arrest was not required.  The complainant was advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and offered an opportunity to meet with a member of the Crisis Response Team (CRT), and apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order (TRO).  The complainant declined meeting with the CRT member and the opportunity to apply for a TRO. Corporal Carvino additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

ACCIDENT (Leaving the scene)
Patrol Officer Falleni responded to a report of a one vehicle motor vehicle accident on
Drakestown Road.  Patrol Officer Falleni initiated an investigation and determined the vehicle, a 1993 Toyota Camry ran off the road into a ditch.  There were no occupants or operator in the area.

Patrol units checked the registered owners home, surrounding residences and Morristown and Hackettstown hospitals.  The Morris County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit responded and searched the area with negative results.  The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Missing person’s unit was notified.  The vehicle was impounded.  The investigation is continuing.

PATROL ARREST (Warrant)
Patrol Officer Allen arrested a 49 year old male resident of
Point Pleasant Beach, NJ on a no bail child support warrant issued by the Ocean County Superior Court.  The individual was transported to Headquarters, processed and turned over to Ocean County authorities.

FRAUD (Identity Theft)
A Bartley Road resident reported that they were the victim of an identity theft.  Patrol Officer Allen initiated an investigation and determined someone obtained a loan using their personal information.

The complainant contacted the loan company’s fraud division, and they stated they would initiate an investigation.  The resident was advised as to the actions available to them.  The investigation is continuing.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
The Fairmont Fire Department reported a section of concrete and stone wall was damaged the preceding day.  Patrol Officer Oranchak responded, initiated an investigation and determined the wall appeared to have been struck by a motor vehicle.  The investigation is continuing.

THEFT
A Spring Lane resident reported that a set of saw horses were stolen from their driveway.  Patrol Officer Hade initiated an investigation and determined the value of the saw horses was $60.  The investigation is continuing.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
The principal of Old Farmer’s School reported that one of the basketball courts was vandalized Patrol Officer Brobst initiated an investigation and Detective Marut responded to the school to assist.  The investigation is continuing.

A Hemlock Drive
resident reported that a birth certificate from Pennsylvania was lost in the mail.  Patrol Officer Bigham completed a report.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE

A Reservoir Road resident reported a Boreem pocket motorcycle was stolen from their garage.  The vehicle has a black seat and a red frame.  The value of the vehicle is $370.  Sergeant Niemynski  initiated the investigation, and verified that the vehicle had been stolen.  The investigation is continuing.

A Naughright Road
resident reported that their driveway was toilet papered during the evening.  The driveway is almost a ¼ long.  Patrol Officer Brobst spoke with the complainant and completed a report.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Patrol Officer Wurtemberg investigated a possible violation of a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) after a resident called Headquarters.

Patrol Officer Wurtemberg initiated an investigation and determined the facts of the matter and contacted Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza who determined there was not probable cause for an arrest. 

Patrol Officer Wurtemberg additionally made appropriate referrals to both parties and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

BAD CHECK
A West Mill Road business owner reported they were issued a bad check by a customer. Sergeant Adams initiated an investigation and determined the validity of the resident’s complaint and facts.  The business owner was advised of the procedure to sign a criminal complaint.

BURGLARY
A Long Valley resident called Headquarters to obtain an ambulance for an individual who overdosed on alcohol.  Patrol Officer Madden, assisted by Sergeant Almer responded to provide medical assistance prior to the arrival of the Long Valley First Aid Squad who transported the individual to Hackettstown Memorial Hospital. 

Patrol Officer Madden determined the individual was a juvenile and initiated an investigation.  The investigation revealed at least five juveniles entered a Long Hill Road residence without the permission of the homeowner and obtained and consumed alcoholic beverages from the residence .  Patrol Officer Madden and Sergeant Almer apprehended several of the juveniles involved.  Detective Marut processed the scene.  Juvenile complaints are pending.

BURGLARY
A Jackie Drive resident called to report their residence was burglarized.  Patrol Officer Madden responded to the scene to initiate an investigation.

Patrol Officer Madden determined he point of entry and the items and value, stolen from the premises.  The investigation is continuing.

PATROL ARREST (DWI)
Patrol Officer Burns arrested a 56 year old male resident of Budd Lake, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on Route 46.  The vehicle was impounded in accordance with “Johns Law” and the defendant was transported to Police Headquarters for a breathalyzer test and processing

The driver was additionally charged with reckless driving, and failure to keep right.  The subject was released to a responsible party.
