PATROL
ARREST (DWI)
Patrol Officer Bigham arrested a 38 year old male resident of Port
Murray, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on Califon Road. The
vehicle was impounded in accordance with “Johns Law” and the defendant
was transported to Police Headquarters for a breathalyzer test and
processing
The driver was additionally charged with careless driving, and
failure to keep right. The subject was released to a responsible party.

ARREST (Violation of a TRO)
Patrol Officer Burns, assisted by Sergeants Adams, charged a 45 year old
male resident of
Washington Township,
NJ for violation of a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO). An arrest
warrant was issued for the defendant and served by Sergeant Adams. The
defendant was previously incarcerated at the Morris county Correctional
Facility. The $5,000 bail was added to the existing bail..

A Kensington Court resident reported they found
undischarged fireworks on their property. Corporal Barnes completed a

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Patrol
Officer Burns, assisted by Sergeant Adams, investigated a possible case
of Domestic Violence after a resident called the Communications Center.
Patrol
Officer Burns initiated an investigation and determined an arrest was
required. The victim was advised of their rights, provided
with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence
Act, and offered an opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic
Violence Restraining Order (TRO).
The victim indicated they wanted to obtain a TRO against the
offender. Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza was contacted
and subsequently issued a TRO against the offender. The Offender was
arrested, and Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza set bail
at $2,500 with a 10% option. The defendant was served with the TRO,
processed and transported to Morris County Correctional facility as the
defendant was unable to post bail.
Patrol
Officer Burns additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the
results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office

ASSISTANCE
Patrol Officer Wurtemberg assisted a Schooley’s
Mountain Road resident after the wheel fell off their Jeep Cherokee.
Patrol Officer Wurtemberg determined the wheel’s lug nuts were not
fastened properly after the vehicle was serviced.

An Upper Sunset Drive resident reported that their wallet was stolen.
Patrol Officer Wurtemberg initiated an investigation, and determined a
debit card from the wallet was used to obtain $226 from a bank account.
The investigation is continuing.

Patrol
Officer Gilligan investigated a report of an assault after a call to
Headquarters. Patrol Officer Gilligan initiated an investigation and
determined that two residents of Fawnridge Drive engaged in a fistfight
and was suffered an injured eye. Patrol Officer Gilligan advised the
victim of the procedure to sign a complaint against the offender.

(Credit Card)
A Chestnut Street
resident reported a credit card fraud. Patrol Officer Allen initiated
an investigation. The resident stated they became aware of purchases
charged to their credit card. The victim stated the purchases were
about $250 in value and they did not make the purchases. The
investigation is continuing.

PROPERTY
A Farmers Road resident reported a small grey metal cash box was located
at the
Apgar Road
bridge. Patrol Officer Madden initiated an investigation and explored
the possibility the box was the proceeds of an unreported theft. The
box had a slit cut in the top, and labels, including one reading “Beer”
were affixed to the top. The investigation was turned over to Detective
Corporal Micco. Any individual with information related to this item is

A Sky Top Road resident called to report that they received obscene
e-mails. Patrol Officer Hade responded to initiate an investigation.
Patrol Officer Hade completed a report and turned the matter over to the
Detective Bureau for further investigation

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Corporal Carvino investigated a possible case of criminal mischief after
a resident came to Headquarters.
Corporal Carvino initiated an investigation and determined the incident
fell under the Domestic Violence Act, and an arrest was not required.
The complainant was
advised of their rights, provided with documents related to
victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and offered an
opportunity to meet with a member of the Crisis Response Team (CRT), and
apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order (TRO).
The
complainant
declined meeting with the CRT member and the opportunity to apply for a
TRO. Corporal Carvino additionally made appropriate referrals and
forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County
Prosecutor’s Office.

ANIMAL BITE
A Heath Village employee reported they were bitten by a chipmunk.
Patrol Officer Madden responded to the scene to initiate an
investigation. The victim stated the chipmunk appeared to be ill, and
the victim attempted to pick up the chipmunk and was bitten. The
chipmunk ran away after biting the victim. The victim was transported
to Hackettstown Community Hospital for treatment. Patrol Officer Madden
forwarded documents related to his investigation to the Health
Department.

THEFT
A Ramsey Way resident reported their vehicle was repossessed while
containing personal property worth $1,300. Patrol Officer Falleni
initiated an investigation and completed a report. The victim was
advised of the procedure to sign a criminal complaint with the municipal
court. The investigation is continuing.

THEFT OF
MOTOR
VEHICLE
A Mission Road resident reported that their 1998 Grey Jeep was stolen.
Corporal Carvino initiated the investigation, and verified that the
vehicle had been stolen. The vehicle was entered into the National
Crime Information Computer (NCIC) System.
A
short time later the same morning, Patrol Officer Madden located the
vehicle on Arbor Way. The vehicle had been involved in a motor vehicle
crash, subsequent investigation determined a juvenile operated the
vehicle. Corporal Carvino arrested and summonsed the juvenile and
released the juvenile to a family member.

Patrol Officer Hade arrested a 32 year old male resident of
Elizabeth,
NJ on a contempt of court warrant issued by the Hillside Municipal
Court. Bail on the warrant was set at $1,085. The individual was
transported to Headquarters, processed and released on bail pending
adjudication.

Officer Brobst investigated a possible violation of a Final restraining
Order (FRO) after a resident came to Headquarters.
Patrol
Officer Brobst initiated an investigation and there was no violation,

contacted and determined there was no violation of the FRO.
Patrol Officer Brobst additionally made appropriate referrals and
forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County
Prosecutor’s Office.

A Knob Hill Road resident reported that their mailbox
was damaged. Patrol Officer Oranchak initiated an investigation, and

A Naughright Road resident called to report that they have been
receiving harassing instant messages on American Online Instant
Messenger (AIM). Patrol Officer Bigham responded to initiate an
investigation. Patrol Officer Bigham completed a report and advised the
complainant what options were available, and the procedures involved, to
end the harassment. The investigation is continuing.

BURGLARY
A West Valley Brook Road Resident called to report a prowler outside
their house. Patrol Officer Gilligan and Corporal Pluciniak responded
to the scene to apprehend the individual and initiate an investigation.
The resident advised the patrol officers the individual appeared
intoxicated and was not at the premises upon the officer’s arrival. The
Morris County Sheriff’s Office Canine Unit responded to assist in the
investigation. Detective Corporal Micco responded to the scene to
continue the investigation and process the scene for evidence. The
Morris County Sheriff’s Office Canine Unit was unable to locate the
prowler. The resident indicated that nothing appeared to have been
taken. The investigation is continuing.

Valley, NJ on a contempt of court warrant issued by the East Orange
Municipal Court. Bail on the warrant was set at $244. The individual
was transported to Headquarters, processed and released on bail pending
adjudication.
