CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
A Schooley’s
Mountain Road resident reported that their mailbox was damaged.  Corporal Pluciniak responded and initiated an investigation, and determined mailbox was damaged with a large rock. Corporal Pluciniak determined another mailbox in the vicinity was damaged.  The investigation is continuing.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
A Naughright Road
resident reported that their mailbox was damaged.  Patrol Officer Allen responded and initiated an investigation, and determined mailbox was damaged and separated from the supporting post with a large rock. The damage to the mailbox was estimated at $100.  The investigation is continuing.

PATROL ARREST (DWI)
Patrol Officer Bigham and Corporal McCarthy arrested a 51 year old male resident of
Washington Township for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) in Chester Borough while returning from a prisoner transport to the Morris County Correctional Facility.  The vehicle was impounded by the Chester Borough Police Department in accordance with “Johns Law” and the defendant was transported to Chester Borough Police Headquarters for a breathalyzer test and processing

The driver was additionally charged with careless driving, and failure to keep right.  The subject was released to a responsible party.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Corporal Carvino investigated a possible case of harassment after a resident called Headquarters. 

Corporal Carvino initiated an investigation and determined the incident fell under the Domestic Violence Act, and an arrest was not required.  The complainant was advised of their rights, and provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act and the opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order (TRO).  The complainant declined the opportunity to apply for a TRO. Corporal Carvino additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

THEFT
A
South Washington Valley Road resident came to Headquarters to report that mail was stolen from their mailbox.  Patrol Officer Gilligan initiated an investigation.  The resident stated a digital video disk (DVD) was removed from their mailbox.  The investigation is continuing.

PATROL ARREST (DWI & Drugs)
Sergeant Adams arrested a 21 year old male resident of
Hackettstown, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on Route 46  The vehicle was impounded in accordance with “Johns Law” and the defendant was transported to Police Headquarters for a breathalyzer test and processing.  Sergeant Adams determined the individual was also in possession of under 50 grams of marijuana.

The driver was charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS), and released in his own recognizance,  The individual was additionally charged with the DWI charge, reckless driving, possession of a CDS in a motor vehicle and failure to keep right.  The  subject was released to a responsible party.

PATROL ARREST (Warrant)
Patrol Officer Bigham arrested a 41 year old male resident of
Annandale, NJ on a contempt of court warrant issued by the Mount Olive Township Municipal Court.  Bail on the warrant was set at $150.  The individual was transported to Headquarters, processed and released on bail pending adjudication.

DUMPING
A DEP employee called to report an individual was dumping at the Route 46 Park and Ride.  Patrol Officer Brobst responded to initiate an investigation.  Patrol Officer Brobst located the individual responsible for placing items at the Park and Ride and instructed the individual, a Lois Drive resident, to remove the items.  All the items were removed by the suspect.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE (Violation of a FRO)
Patrol Officer Rady charged a 22 year old male resident of Hackettstown, NJ for violation of a Final Restraining Order (FRO).  An arrest warrant was issued for the defendant and served by Sergeant Adams.  Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza was contacted, determined there was probable cause for the issuance of a warrant, and subsequently issued an arrest warrant for the offender.  Judge Leanza set bail at $15,000.

FAMILY MATTER (Custody Dispute)
A Day Camp reported that they were having difficulty with a civil family order dealing with the visitation times of a camper.  Patrol Officer Brobst moderated a resolution of this incident with the parents.  The parents was advised to contact their attorney to assist in the resolution of the matter and was provided with the appropriate referrals.

LOST PROPERTY
A Peachtree Village resident came to Headquarters to report that they lost a Samsung Scha310 cell phone.  Patrol Officer Brobst completed a report.

resident came to Headquarters to report that they misplaced their driver’s license.  Patrol Officer Wurtemberg completed a report.

HARASSMENT
A Long Hill Road resident came to Headquarters to report that they have been harassed by a neighbor.  Patrol Officer Madden initiated an investigation.  Patrol Officer Madden completed a report and advised the complainant what options were available, and the procedures involved, to end the harassment.

HARASSMENT
A Peachtree Village resident called to report that they have been harassed.  Corporal Pluciniak responded to initiate an investigation, and determined the offender was pounded on the complainant’s door and yelled profanities. Corporal Pluciniak completed a report.

resident came to Headquarters to report that they misplaced their driver’s license.  Patrol Officer Gilligan completed a report.

VEHICLE FIRE
Police Communications received a report of a vehicle fire on Beacon Hill Road.  Sergeant Almer responded to initiate an investigation.  The Long Valley Fire Company, the Schooley’s Mountain Fire Protection Association and the responded to extinguish the fire.  Sergeant Almer reported a 1988 Ford pickup was destroyed in the fire and determined the cause of the fire was accidental.  Additional investigation revealed the operator of the vehicle was operating while their driving privileges were revoked.  Sergeant Almer issued summonses in the matter.

PATROL ARREST (Warrant)
Corporal Pluciniak arrested a 46 year old female resident of
Mendham, NJ on a no bail warrant issued by the Morris County Superior Court.  The individual was transported to Headquarters, processed and turned over to the Morris County Sheriff’s Department.

A resident of
Pheasant Drive reported that a sliding glass door at the rear of the residence was shattered.  Patrol Officer Brobst completed a report.
