DOMESTIC VIOLENCE (Violation of a FRO)
Patrol Officer Burns, assisted by Sergeant Compton, investigated a possible violation of a Domestic Violence Final Restraining Order (FRO), after a report to Headquarters.  The investigation identified information that was relayed to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza.  It was determined a violation of the order did not occur.  Patrol Officer Burns additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

PATROL ARREST (DWI)
Sergeant Adams arrested a 22 year old male resident of Martins Creek, PA, for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on Route 46.  The vehicle was impounded in accordance with “Johns Law” and the defendant was transported to Police Headquarters for a breathalyzer test and processing

The driver was additionally charged with reckless driving, and failure to keep right.  The subject was released to a responsible party.

LOST PROPERTY
An Ann Road resident came to Headquarters to report that a set of keys was lost.  Patrol Officer Burns completed a report.

THEFT
The Morris County Road Department reported three “Detour” signs and a “Bridge Out” sign for the bridge construction near Middle Valley Road stolen.  Corporal Barnes initiated an investigation and completed a report.  The value of the signs were not immediately available.

The investigation is continuing.

PATROL ARREST (DWI)
Patrol Officer Falleni arrested a 26 year old male resident of Sewell, NJ  for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on Route 46.  The vehicle was impounded in accordance with “Johns Law” and the defendant was transported to Police Headquarters for a breathalyzer test and processing

The driver was additionally charged with reckless driving, speeding and failure to keep right.  The subject was released to a responsible party.

ASSAULT
Corporal Corvino, investigated a report of an assault after an individual called Headquarters.

Corporal Corvino initiated an investigation and determined that a group of Melissa Drive residents were involved in a disturbance with a passing vehicle and there were several assaults.  Corporal Corvino advised the victim of the procedure to sign a complaint against the offender.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
A Nancy Terrace resident reported that their property was damaged with paintballs.  Patrol Officer Allen responded, initiated an investigation and determined the resident’s house and 1998 Mercedes sedan were shot with red and yellow paintballs. It appeared that there was more than one individual responsible for the damage.

PATROL ARREST (Warrant)
Patrol Officer Hade arrested a 21 year old male resident of
Newark, NJ on a contempt of court warrant issued by the Harding Township Municipal Court.  Bail on the warrant was set at $395.  The individual was transported to Headquarters, processed and turned over to the Harding Township Police Department as he was unable to post bail.

PATROL ARREST (False Information to Police, Forgery)
Patrol Officer Allen arrested a 54 year old male resident of Hackettstown for Providing False Documents to a Police Officer and Forgery after the individual presented Officer Allen with a forged insurance card as part of an attempt to retrieve his vehicle from the Police Impound lot. The vehicle was impounded after a previous arrest on a Warren County Prosecutor’s Office Warrant.

Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza was contacted, determined there was probable cause for the issuance of a warrant, and subsequently issued an arrest warrant for the offender.  Judge Leanza set bail at $10,000, no 10% option. The driver was arrested, processed and transported to the Morris County Correctional Facility pending adjudication, as the individual could not post bail.

THEFT
The Morris County Road Department reported several detour signs for the bridge construction near Zellers Road and Middle Valley Road.  A “Detour” and a “Bridge Closed Ahead” signs were taken.  Patrol Officer Allen initiated an investigation and completed a report. The value of the sign was not immediately available.

The investigation is continuing.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Sergeant Bratus investigated a possible case of Domestic Violence after a resident came to Headquarters. 

Sergeant Bratus initiated an investigation and determined an arrest was not required.  The victim was advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and offered an opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order (TRO).  The victim indicated they would like to obtain a TRO, and in accordance with Morris County Superior Court Guidelines, were advised to proceed to the Morris County Court House to seek assistance.  

Sergeant Bratus additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
A resident of
Hackettstown, NJ reported that their vehicle was damaged at the Heath Village pool parking lot.  Patrol Officer Oranchak responded, initiated an investigation and determined the hood of their 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier was keyed from headlamp to headlamp.  The investigation is continuing.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Patrol Officer Brobst investigated a 911 hang up call and determined the incident fell under the Domestic Violence Act, and that an arrest was not required.  The complainant was advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and offered an opportunity to meet with a member of the Crisis Response Team (CRT), and apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order (TRO).  The complainant declined meeting with the CRT member and the opportunity to apply for a TRO. Patrol Officer Brobst additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

STRUCTURE FIRE
Hackettstown Ford reported a nearby barn was on fire.  Patrol Officer Rady, assisted by Sergeant Compton, responded to initiate an investigation.  The Long Valley Fire Company, the Schooley’s Mountain Fire Protection Association, and the Fairmount Fire Company, and the Long Valley First Aid Squad, assisted by the Hackettstown and Budd Lake Fire Departments responded to extinguish the fire.  Patrol Officer Rady determined the fire may have been started by juveniles playing in or at the barn. 

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and the Morris County Sheriff’s Department responded to assist in the investigation.  . 

The investigation was turned over to Detective Sergeant Pellegrino the Washington Township Police Department, and is continuing.

LOST PROPERTY
A Beechnut Drive
resident came to Headquarters to report that they lost a Verizon picture phone cell phone.  Patrol Officer Burns completed a report.

HARASSMENT
A
Mount Lebanon Road resident called to report that they have been receiving harassing phone calls.  Patrol Officer Burns initiated an investigation.  Patrol Officer Bigham completed a report and advised the complainant what options were available, and the procedures involved, to end the harassment.

BURGLARY
A
West Mill Road resident called to report their barn was burglarized.  Patrol Officer Burns assisted by Sergeant Compton, responded to the scene to initiate an investigation.

Patrol Officer Burns determined that two motorcycles, a lime colored 1995 Kawasaki and a blue and white 1998 Yamaha were stolen from the premises.  The combined value of the bikes was put at $5,000. 

Detective Corporal Micco continued the investigation and located both motorcycles.  The investigation is continuing.

PATROL ARREST (Warrant)
Patrol Officer Allen arrested a 54 year old male resident of
Hackettstown, NJ on a no bail warrant issued by the Warren County Superior Court.  The individual was transported to Headquarters, processed and transported to the Morris County Correctional facility pending transfer to Warren County custody.
