DOMESTIC VIOLENCE (Violation of a FRO)
Patrol Officer Madden investigated a possible violation of a Domestic Violence Final Restraining Order (FRO), after a report to Headquarters.  The investigation identified information that was relayed to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.  The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office determined a violation of the order may have occurred, but initiating an arrest for the violation was not possible as the violation occurred in
New York State, and they suggested the victim contact the 114th Precinct of the NYPD.  Patrol Officer Madden made the referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

THEFT
A Fox Hill Road resident reported that Meyers Snow Plow was removed from their property.  Patrol Officer Madden initiated an investigation and determined the value of plow was $100.  Anyone who can provide information related to this incident should contact tips@wtpdmorris.org.  All information will be held confidential.

The investigation is continuing.

THEFT
Patrol Officer Gilligan responded to a report of three individuals filling a water tank from a fire hydrant on Arrowhead Road. Patrol Officer Gilligan an investigation and determined the individual did not have permission to remove water from the reservoir. 

The Hackettstown Municipal Utilities Authority (HMUA) was contacted as part of the investigation and subsequently indicated they would consider signing a criminal complaint with the Washington Township Municipal Court.

FRAUD (Identity Theft)
A Fawnridge Drive resident reported that they were the victim of an identity theft.  Patrol Officer Falleni initiated an investigation and determined someone obtained a credit card using their personal information, and then used the card making $1,500 in charges on the card. 

The complainant contacted the credit card’s fraud division, and they stated they would initiate an investigation.  The resident was advised as to the actions available to them.  The investigation is continuing.

PATROL ARREST (Violation of a FRO)
Patrol Officer Bigham, assisted by Sergeant Adams, charged a 45 year old male resident of Long Valley, NJ for violation of a Final Restraining Order (FRO).  An arrest warrant was issued for the defendant.   The defendant was arrested later that day by Sergeant Adams, assisted by Patrol Officer Wallenstein.  The defendant was transported to Police Headquarters for processing, and was released on $5,000 bail pending adjudication.

HARASSMENT
A
Beacon Hill Road resident called to report that they have been receiving harassing phone calls.  Corporal Barnes responded to initiate an investigation.  Corporal Barnes completed a report and advised the complainant what options were available, and the procedures involved, to end the harassment.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Sergeant Adams, assisted by Corporal Carvino, and Patrol Officer Rady investigated a possible case of Domestic Violence after a resident dialed 911. 

Sergeant Adams initiated an investigation and determined an arrest was required.  The victim was advised of their rights, and provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act. The victim was offered an opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order (TRO) and meet with a member of the Crisis Response Team (CRT).  The victim indicated they wanted to meet with a CRT member and declined the opportunity to obtain a TRO.

The Offender was arrested for Assault and Criminal Mischief.  Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza set bail at $1,000.  Sergeant Adams additionally made appropriate referrals to both parties and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

THEFT
A Wherli Road resident reported their mailbox was stolen.  Sergeant Adams initiated an investigation.  Sergeant Adams determined the mail box was driven over prior to it’s removal. The value of the mailbox is $100.  The investigation is continuing.

FRAUD
A Heritage Court resident reported they were selling a vehicle on the Internet and received a fraudulent money order for the purchase of the vehicle.  Patrol Officer Brobst initiated an investigation and completed a report.  The investigation is continuing.

PATROL ARREST (Warrant)
Patrol Officer Oranchak arrested a 40 year old male resident of
Saddle River, NJ on a contempt of court warrant issued by the Wayne Township Municipal Court.  Bail on the warrant was set at $1,600.  The individual was transported to Headquarters, processed and released on bail pending adjudication.

PATROL ARREST (DWI)
Captain Gundersdorf stopped a motorcyclist for DWI on Naughright Road. Patrol Officer Falleni assisted and arrested a 35 year old male resident of Chester, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).  The motorcycle was impounded in accordance with “Johns Law” and the defendant was transported to Police Headquarters for a breathalyzer test and processing

The driver was additionally charged with failure to keep right, unlicensed to operate a motorcycle, operating a motorcycle with an unapproved helmet, and reckless driving.  The subject was released to a responsible party.

ABANDONED MOTOR VEHICLE
A Route 46 Business Owner called to report an individual left a vehicle with a flat tire parked on their property for two weeks.  The owner said that the vehicle would be removed the following day, but did not remove it.  Sergeant Almer responded to initiate an investigation. Sergeant Almer located the owner, spoke with him and advised action would be taken if the vehicle was promptly not removed.  The vehicle was not removed as promised and Sergeant Almer summonsed the owner for abandoning a motor vehicle, operating an unregistered vehicle, fictitious plates, and failure to notify Division of Motor Vehicles of an address change.  The property owner was advised as to the procedure to remove the vehicle from the property.

resident reported that their vehicle was damaged while parked on their lawn over the weekend.  Corporal Carvino responded, initiated an investigation and determined the windshield was damaged, possibly by a BB gun.

resident reported that their property was vandalized.  Patrol Officer Allen spoke with the complainant and completed a report.

Patrol Officer Hade investigated a possible case of harassment after a resident called Headquarters.

A Rosewood Trail resident reported their mailbox was damaged.   Patrol Officer Gilligan initiated an investigation, and determined the mailbox was removed from the post.  The mailbox was recovered from nearby.  Anyone with information should contact tips@wtpdmorris.org.  All information will be held confidential.  The investigation is continuing.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Patrol Officer Rady investigated a report of a violation of a Final Restraining Order (FRO) after a resident called Headquarters. 

Patrol Officer Rady determined there was no violation of a FRO and an arrest was not required.  Patrol Officer Rady completed a report detailing the allegations made, and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.
