PROPERTY
A Windswept Way resident reported a vehicle dumped a
pink girl’s bike and a boy’s mountain bike in the woods. Patrol Officer
Burns recovered the bikes and secured them at Police Headquarters.

A
Black River Road resident called to report that they have
been receiving harassing phone calls and e-mails. Patrol Officer Bigham
responded to initiate an investigation. Patrol Officer Bigham completed
a report and advised the complainant what options were available, and
the procedures involved, to end the harassment.

DUMPING
A Hastings Square
business owner called to report someone dumped household garbage next to
the business dumpster. Patrol Officer Bigham responded to initiate an
investigation and determined the person responsible for the dumping.
Patrol Officer Bigham instructed the individual to remove the items,
contacted the property owner, and advised the property owner as to the
procedure to sign a complaint with the
Township Court.

(Identity Theft)
A Highland Avenue
resident reported someone attempted to change the billing address of one
of their credit cards. The resident reported the individual had their
social security number. Patrol Officer Gilligan initiated an
investigation and determined the validity of the resident’s complaint
and facts. The resident was advised as to the action available to
them. The investigation is continuing.

An Ascot Drive resident reported that a female stone lion lawn ornament
was removed from their property. Patrol Officer Gilligan initiated an
investigation and determined the lion was valued at $150 Anyone who can

Two employees of a
Long
Valley business reported that their vehicle were damaged while parked at
the business. Patrol Officer Gilligan responded, initiated an
investigation and determined tires on the vehicles were damaged,
requiring their replacement.

(Credit Card Theft)
A Brooklawn Drive resident reported a credit card fraud. Patrol Officer
Rady initiated an investigation. The resident stated they ran an
account balance on their credit card after returning from vacation and
discovered a $3,100 charge was fraudulently made to their card. The
investigation is continuing.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Patrol
Officer Rady investigated a possible disturbance after a resident called
Headquarters on 911.
Patrol
Officer Rady initiated an investigation and determined the incident fell
under the Domestic Violence Act, and an arrest was not required. The
individuals involved were
advised of their rights, provided with
documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act,
and offered an opportunity to meet with a member of the Crisis Response
Team (CRT), and apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining
Order (TRO). Both individuals declined meeting with the CRT member and
the opportunity to apply for a TRO. Patrol Officer Rady additionally
made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his
investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Patrol
Officer Burns investigated a possible case of Domestic Violence after a
resident came to Headquarters.
Patrol
Officer Burns initiated an investigation and determined an arrest was
not required. The victim was
advised of their rights, provided with documents related the Domestic
Violence Act, and offered an opportunity to apply for a Temporary
Domestic Violence Restraining Order (TRO). The victim indicated they
would like to obtain a TRO, and in accordance with Morris County
Superior Court Guidelines, were advised to proceed to the Morris County
Court House to seek assistance.
Patrol
Officer Burns additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the
results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

Court. The individual was transported to Headquarters, processed and

owner the total value of the merchandise taken was $150. The continuing
