PATROL ARREST (DWI)
Sergeant Adams arrested a 25year old male resident of Paterson, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on Route 46.  The vehicle was impounded in accordance with “Johns Law” and the defendant was transported to Police Headquarters for a breathalyzer test and processing

The driver was additionally charged with reckless driving, and failure to keep right.  The subject was released to a responsible party.

HARASSMENT
A Naughright Road resident came to Police Headquarters to report that they have been receiving harassing instant messages (IM’s) while on line.  Corporal Barnes responded and initiated an investigation.  Corporal Barnes completed a report and advised the complainant what options were available, and the procedures involved, to end the harassment.

CHIMNEY FIRE
Police Communications received a report of a possible chimney fire on North Bridges Road.  Sergeant Adams responded to initiate an investigation.  The Washington Township Fire Departments responded to extinguish the fire.  And determined there was no chimney fire, rather a fire was set in the fireplace and the damper was closed. The Washington Township Fire Departments used exhaust fans to remove smoke from the residence.

FAMILY MATTER (Custody Dispute)

A resident reported that they were having difficulty with a civil family order dealing with visitation times of their children.  Patrol Officer Marut completed a report.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
A Barstann Court
resident reported that their mailbox was removed from the support.  Patrol Officer Brobst spoke with the complainant and completed a report. Patrol Officer Brobst also determined a mailbox and a fence at nearby neighbor’s properties were damaged.

Patrol Officer Bigham arrested a 35 year old male resident of Hackettstown, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on Schooley’s Mountain Road.  The vehicle was impounded in accordance with “Johns Law” and the defendant was transported to Police Headquarters for a breathalyzer test and processing.

The driver was additionally charged with failure to keep right.  The subject was released to a responsible party.

Patrol Officer Burns arrested a 36 year old female resident of Hackettstown for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on Route 46.  The vehicle was impounded in accordance with “Johns Law” and the defendant was transported to Police Headquarters for a breathalyzer test and processing.

The driver was additionally charged with reckless driving, having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle and failure to keep right.  The subject was released to a responsible party.

THEFT
An Old farmers Road resident reported an individual(s) were in their vehicle while it was parked on Bartley Road.  Patrol Officer Marut initiated an investigation, and completed a report on his findings.  The investigation is continuing.

FRAUD
A Sycamore Lane resident reported they purchased tickets for a Bob-Jovi concert at the Borgata Casino for $700 on e-Bay and never received the tickets.  Patrol Officer Marut completed a report.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Patrol Officer Wurtemberg investigated a possible case of harassment after a resident came to Headquarters. 

Patrol Officer Wurtemberg initiated an investigation and determined although the incident fell under the Domestic Violence Act, an arrest was not required.  The complainant was advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and offered an opportunity to meet with a member of the Crisis Response Team (CRT), and apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order (TRO).  The complainant declined meeting with the CRT member and the opportunity to apply for a TRO. Patrol Officer Wurtemberg additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

THEFT
A Wolf Run Court resident reported that about $300 worth of items were stolen from their vehicle.  .  Corporal Pluciniak initiated an investigation and completed a report..  The investigation is continuing.

PATROL ARREST (Warrant)
Sergeant Bratus arrested a 22 year old female resident of
Hackettstown NJ on a contempt of court warrant issued by the Florham Park Municipal Court.  Bail on the warrant was set at $750.  The individual was transported to Headquarters, processed and turned over to the custody of Detective Core and Officer Bartell of the Florham Park Police Department as she was unable to post bail.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE (Assault)
Patrol Officers Gilligan, assisted by Corporal Pluciniak, and Patrol Officer Hade, investigated a possible case of Domestic Violence after a resident called the Communications Center. 

Patrol Officer Gilligan initiated an investigation and determined an arrest was required.  The victim was advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, offered an opportunity to meet with a member of the Crisis Response Team (CRT), and was offered an opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order.  The victim declined meeting with the CRT member, and applying for the TRO.

Patrol Officer Gilligan arrested the defendant for Assault.  The defendant was transported to Police Headquarters for a assignment of bail and processing.  Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza set bail at $500/ROR.  Patrol Officer Gilligan additionally made appropriate referrals and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office

PATROL ARREST (Warrant)
Patrol Officer Hade arrested a 21 year old female resident of
High Bridge, NJ on a contempt of court warrant issued by the Phillipsburg Town Municipal Court.  Bail on the warrant was set at $80.  The individual was transported to Headquarters, processed and released on bail.

BRUSH FIRE
Police Communications received several reports of brush fires on Schooley’s Mountain Road.  Patrol Officer Gilligan responded to initiate an investigation.  The Schooley’s Mountain Fire Protection Association responded to extinguish the fires.  Patrol Officer Gilligan reported the fires appeared to have been started by flares dropped in the brush.  The investigation is continuing.

LOST PROPERTY
A Winay Terrace resident reported that their wallet was lost at Morris Central High School.  Patrol Officer Burns completed a report.

DISPUTE
A Washington Township resident called to report a problem with a parent.  Patrol Officer Burns responded, initiated an investigation.  and determined the disagreement involved yelling.  Patrol Officer Burns completed a report and advised the parents of resources available to them.
