PATROL ARREST (Warrant)
Patrol Officer Burns arrested a 22 year old female resident of
Hackettstown, NJ on a contempt of court warrant issued by the Rockaway Township Municipal Court.  Bail on the warrant was set at $400.  The individual was transported to Headquarters, processed and released on bail pending adjudication.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Patrol Officer Wurtemberg investigated a possible case of Domestic Violence after a resident called Communications. 

Patrol Officer Wurtemberg initiated an investigation and determined an arrest was not required.  The victim was advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and offered an opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order (TRO), and meet with a Crisis Response Team (CRT) member.  The victim indicated they did not want a TRO or to speak with a CRT member. Patrol Officer Wurtemberg additionally made appropriate referrals to both parties and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

PATROL ARREST (Warrant)
Patrol Officer Bigham arrested a 41 year old male resident of
Burlington, NJ on a contempt of court warrant issued by the Burlington Municipal Court.  Bail on the warrant was set at $145.  The individual was transported to Headquarters, processed and released pending adjudication, after a relative posted bail.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Patrol Officer Brobst investigated a possible case of Domestic Violence after a resident came to Police Headquarters. 

Patrol Officer Brobst initiated an investigation and determined an arrest for assault was required.  The victim was advised of their rights, provided with documents related to victim’s rights under the Domestic Violence Act, and offered an opportunity to apply for a Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order (TRO), and meet with a Crisis Response Team (CRT) member.  The victim indicated they would like to obtain a TRO and meet with members of the CRT. Patrol Officer Bigham assisted the victim in obtaining a TRO. 

Washington Township Municipal Court Judge Leanza was contacted and issued the TRO and found probable cause for the issuance of an arrest warrant.  Judge Leanza set bail at $5,000 with a 10% option. The defendant was arrested, transported to Police Headquarters for processing and then transported to the Morris County Correctional facility as the defendant was unable to post bail.

Patrol Officer Bigham additionally made appropriate referrals to both parties and forwarded the results of his investigation to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

FAMILY MATTER (Custody Dispute)

An individual reported that they were having difficulty with a civil family order dealing with custody of their children.  Patrol Officer Marut responded to the scene to initiate an investigation.  Patrol Officer Marut determined the matter was civil and nature and unenforceable by the police department.  The resident was advised the incident would be documented, to contact their attorney, and was provided with the appropriate referrals.

PATROL ARREST (Warrant)
Patrol Officer Bigham arrested a 42 year old male resident of
Hackettstown, NJ on a contempt of court warrant issued by the Lodi Boro Municipal Court.  Bail on the warrant was set at $252.  The individual was transported to Headquarters, processed and released on bail pending adjudication.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
A resident of
Sherwood Park reported that their vehicle was damaged at the Long Valley Professional Center.  Corporal Barnes responded, initiated an investigation and determined the windshield of a 1998 Toyota pickup was broken with a brick.  Corporal Barnes completed a report.

PURSUIT
Sergeant Bratus and Sergeant Adams stopped a green Jeep Cherokee for speeding on Route 46.  As the Sergeants approached the vehicle, the Jeep sped away.  Sergeants Adams and Bratus pursued the Jeep until the Jeep began to travel east in the westbound lanes at speeds in excess of 100 MPH, at which point they terminated the chase.

Communications notified all surrounding municipalities of the incident, and a short time later Mount Olive Police Department located the vehicle in a residential area. 

Subsequent investigations revealed the vehicle was stolen from a commuter parking lot in warrant County and was used in the commission of several residential burglaries.  Mount Olive Police Department recovered some of the proceeds of the burglaries with the vehicle.  The investigation is continuing and a number of charges against the occupants of the Jeep are pending.

Corporal McCarthy investigated a call to 911. Corporal McCarthy initiated an investigation and made appropriate referrals to the family.

TRESPASS
A Paula Drive resident called to report an individual with their dog on their property.  Patrol Officer Rady responded to the scene to initiate an investigation. 

The trespasser was not on the property upon Patrol Officer Rady’s arrival and the victim stated that the individual has allowed their dog to defecate on the property in the past, and upon this occasion attempted to initiate an argument.

Patrol Officer Rady completed a report.

resident came to headquarters to report that they lost a Verizon LG VX600 VZ cell phone.  Patrol Officer Bigham completed a report.

PATROL ARREST (Violation of a FRO)
Patrol Officer Bigham served an arrest warrant on a 21 year old male resident of Orange, NJ issued as a result of the defendant violating a  Final Restraining Order (FRO) on November 26.  A judge was contacted and bail was set at $500.   The defendant was processed and released on $5,000 bail pending adjudication.

HARASSMENT
A
Douglas Drive resident called to report that they were harassed by employees of a Long Valley Business.  Patrol Officer Brobst responded to initiate an investigation.  Patrol Officer Brobst determined the complainant stated the employees made inappropriate sexual comments.  The employees of the store denied any knowledge of any event of that nature.  Patrol Officer Brobst completed a report.

FRAUD (Theft of Service)
A Route 46 Business reported that provided services to a customer and the customer has not paid the business.  Patrol Officer Burns initiated an investigation and determined the victim is owed approximately $3,200 for work performed.  The victim made numerous attempts to contact the customer, but it appears that the customer is avoiding contacting the business. Patrol Officer Burns advised the victim as to the action available to them, and the procedure to file a criminal complaint.
