Communications Officer Howard Ghetti promoted to
Communications Specialist Supervisor

Howard Ghetti being sworn in by Dianne Gallets, Township Administrator, while Donna Ghetti assists. Howard Ghetti was promoted to the position of Communication Officers Supervisor at a township committee meeting recently. Donna Ghetti held the Bible, and their two children looked on as Howard was sworn in by Township Administrator Dianne Gallets. (See pictures) The promotion was effective Dec 1. Mr. Ghetti, 44, has been an employee of Washington Township for over twenty five years. He has been a communications officer for the entire time, in addition to having additional responsibilities.. As a new Communications Specialist Supervisor. (CS/S) Mr. Ghetti is responsible for supervising the communications officers who dispatch from the West Morris Communications Center, located in the Washington Township Police Headquarters.

The West Morris Communications Center answers all 911 calls, and dispatches the emergency response for the Washington Township Police, Fire and First Aid Departments, the Chester Township and Chester Borough Police, Fire and First Aid Departments, and the Mendham Township Police, Fire and First Aid Departments.

In addition to his communication officer supervisory responsibilities, Mr. Ghetti is the 911 coordinator and the terminal access control officer (TAC) for the communications center. The TAC is responsible for overseeing all access, training and records keeping requirements for the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), for the agencies the West Morris Communications Center dispatches. The NCIC System is a computerized system containing criminal record history information, wanted and missing person, and stolen property. The system is accessed by Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement and other agencies and is operational 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.
