A Sudden
spring snow storm resulted in over 14 accidents
being reported to the Washington Township
Police Department on April 5, 2006.
Road
conditions became treacherous as several
inches of snow were deposited in a
matter of minutes. A head on accident
was reported on Route 46, shutting
down the road until equipment could
both treat the roads and clear the
vehicles.
Schooley's
Mountain Road was impassible for a
period of time as a tractor trailer
became stuck on the upgrade near Cataract
Falls.
Naughright
Road was shut briefly as there there
was no traction available until Washington
Township DPW salt trucks arrived.
West
Mill Road was the scene of an overturned
vehicle near Middle Valley Road. None
of the injuries in any of the accidents
were reported to be of a serious nature.
