Local Groups send Packages to Home Town Troops

Washington Township Supports our Troops

The Washington Township Police Department in a joint effort with the Washington Township Veterans Association will be sending care packages to US military personnel serving overseas.

The groups are particularly interested in sending packages to soldiers from our local community. If you know of any soldiers actively serving our country, please forward their names and address to Det. Sgt. Mike Pellegrino at mpellegrino@wtpdmorris.org or Patrol Officer Rob Oranchak at roranchak@wtpdmorris.org. A phone message providing the information may also be left on the voice mail for Community Policing at 908.876.8309.

The first batch of packages are set to be mailed to ten local soldiers serving in Iraq during the second week of February.  The packages include personal items and food.  A second round of packages will be mailed out in early March.  The Washington Township Police Department, the Washington Township Police Benevolent Association Local 301, the Washington Township Veterans Association and Dr. Glen Molnar, DMD helped make this effort happen.

If you know of someone serving overseas, or if you wish to contribute to the effort, please contact either Det. Sgt. Mike Pellegrino or Patrol Officer Rob Oranchak, above.  Your contribution goes directly to the men and women serving overseas.
