Warrant Arrest

On 01/30/12 at approximately 12:10 hours, P.O. Feichter conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 46 east in Washington Township.  Subsequent to the stop, Gary Evanko was found to be sitting on carpet in between the driver and passenger seats.  Gary Evanko 31 years old from Hackettstown, NJ provided his identification and was found to have an active no bail N.C.I.C. Warrant out of the Morris County Prosecutors Office for Heroin possession.  Gary was taken into custody and was later turned over to the Morris County Sheriffs Department.  Gary was also issued a motor vehicle summons for riding on parts not intended for passengers.

DWI Arrest

On January 28, 2012 at 1:18 AM Patrol Officer Michael Thompson stopped a Silver Subaru for failure to keep right on Naughright Road.  Whiles speaking to the driver Elmira J. McDonald 50 yrs old from Chester, NJ it was determined that she was driving while intoxicated.  Ms. McDonald was arrested and processed at Washington Township Police Headquarters.  Ms. McDonalds vehicle was impounded as per John’s law and she was later released to a family member with a mandatory court appearance.

CDS Arrest

On 1/26/2012 at 22:50, Cpl. Brian Bigham came upon a 2003 Volkswagon on Flocktown Road.  Upon running the license plate, it came back with a positive response for a $400 warrant out of Berkley Heights for the owner/operator, Shawn Lance 21 yrs old from Washington, NJ.  The response also stated that Mr. Lane’s license was suspended.  Cpl. Bigham turned and attempted to locate the vehicle which had continued west on Flocktown Road.  The vehicle was located on Heath Lane, possibly attempting to elude Cpl. Bigham.

Cpl. Bigham performed a motor vehicle stop and removed the driver, Mr. Lance, based upon the warrant for his arrest out of Berkley Heights.  The subsequent investigation led to the discovery of four heroin folds in the vehicle.  Mr. Lance was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was processed per departmental procedures. 

Mr. Lance was charged with Possession of Heroin, Driving While Suspended, Failure to Inspect His Vehicle, and Obstructed View for having a broken windshield.  He was issued the appropriate summonses and released to a family member.  He was also released on the warrant out of Berkley Heights and given a new court date per their court clerk.

Warrant Arrest

On 1/16/2012 at 8:05 pm, Cpl. Brian Bigham stopped a 1992 maroon Ford Taurus after a random plate inquiry revealed that the owner, Anthony Krise 28 years old from Glen Gardner, NJ, had a warrant for his arrest out of Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office for failing to appear at his court date regarding his possession of heroin charges.

Mr. Krise was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where after processing, was turned over to detectives from Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.  The vehicle was turned over to a family member who was also in the car at the time of the stop.

Road Closure

Starting January 17, 2012 Pleasant Grove Road will be closed to thru traffic between Glen Ridge Drive and Kings Highway.  This closure will last until January 31, 2012 for a bridge replacement project.  This project is being completed by Morris County Department of Public Works Division of Engineering.  Please plan alternate routes during this time frame.   A detour has been established and will be posted during construction. Warrant Arrest

On January 11, 2012, PO Michael Hade stopped a motor vehicle on County Route 517 for a motor vehicle violation.  A passenger in the vehicle, Shazad Mohammed 49 yrs old from Newark, NJ, was found to have two active ATS Warrants for his arrest.  The first was out of the Washington Township Municipal Court in the amount of $500.00 and the second was out of the Wall Township Municipal Court in the amount of $96.00.  Mr. Mohammed posted his bail and was released.

Shoplifting

On 01/10/2012, P.O. Michael Thompson responded to the Target Department Store regarding a shoplifting complaint.  Upon Officer Thompson’s arrival, Robert Rolser 34 yrs old from Washington, NJ was in the custody of Target Security personnel.  A Target security officer advised Mr. Rolser had attempted to leave the store with out paying for a DVD player and DVD movies totaling $142.26.  Mr. Rolser was transported to police headquarters and later released pending a court date.

CDS Arrest

On Saturday, 01/07/2012 at 23:07 hours, Officer Griffin was conducting a property check on Califon Island Park in Califon Boro and observed a suspicious vehicle which was occupied by two male juveniles and one female juvenile.  Further investigation revealed that all three juveniles were under the influence of marijuana and one male juvenile was also in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  All three juveniles were transported to police headquarters and processed and issued juvenile complaints before being released to their parents.  The vehicle was towed and impounded at the Washington Township Police Impound Yard.

Recovered Human Body

A business owner reported what appeared to be a partially submerged human body mid stream in the Musconetcong River.  Responding officers from Washington Township and the Hackettstown  Police Departments were able to observe a body that was wedged in a log jam.  The Budd Lake Fire Company Water Rescue Team was requested to assist with recovering the body.  The Budd Lake Fire Company was able to recover the body.  The body was turned over to the Morris County Medical Examiners Office.  Several organizations assisted in the recovery:  Budd Lake Fire Company, Long Valley Fire Company, Morris County Sheriff’s Dept, Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office, as well as the Hackettstown Police Department. 

The incident is under investigation.

Warrant Arrest

On 12/22/11 at approximately 11:23 hours, Officer Adam Feichter conducted a motor vehicle stop in Califon Borough.  Upon stopping it was learned the driver, Charles Kasulanis 45 yrs olf from Hampton, NJ had an active A.T.S. Warrant out of Clinton Twp.  The front seat passenger, Daniel Wargaski 41 yrs old from Hampton, NJ was found to have an active A.T.S. Warrant out of Clinton Twp also and an active N.C.I.C. Warrant out of the Hunterdon County Sheriffs Department for child support.  Charles and Daniel were both processed and Charles was released on bail and Daniel was turned over to the Hunterdon County Sheriffs Department. 

Charles was also issued motor vehicle summonses for having a suspended registration and no liability insurance.
